Okay, so “Masters of the Universe” really tried to pack in everyone – a ton of the classic heroes and villains, plus some surprises for long-time fans. Honestly, while they got a lot of faces in there, it’s impossible to include all the characters from the franchise. But, and this is a big but, they cleverly teased another awesome hero at the end, which definitely has me excited for a potential sequel!
As the movie was wrapping up, our heroes got a desperate plea for help from Avion – it’s this amazing city where bird people live! Knowing the lore, Avion is always guarded by Stratos, a flying hero who’s been a fan favorite in the comics for ages. It felt like a really clever way to set up his introduction in the next film – I’m already excited to see him take flight on the big screen!
Who Is Stratos In Masters of the Universe?
He-Man has many friends who help him, but Stratos is one of his most reliable. As the leader of the people of Avion, Stratos is a hero in his own right. He can fly, move quickly, see for great distances, and even shoot energy blasts from his hands. When Stratos joins the fight, it gives He-Man and all the heroes of Eternia a significant advantage.
Stratos played a prominent role in the original cartoon series, often fighting alongside heroes like Ram Man. He assisted He-Man frequently, but his main responsibility was protecting his home city of Avion. He even defended Avion from an invasion led by Skeletor in the first season. Later, Stratos was wrongly accused of a crime and exiled, but his name was eventually cleared.
Stratos has also appeared in other renditions of the franchise, including the 200X series and Masters of the Universe: Revelation, but he hasn’t yet appeared in live-action. If this tease is delivered on, that could change in the sequel, and hopefully it does. Getting a sequel that included Stratos, Orko, and She-Ra on top of the returning cast would be amazing, but only time will tell if a sequel ends up happening.
