Matt Smith reveals one Doctor Who question he needs to stop being asked

Back when I signed on to embody the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who, I couldn’t foresee how profoundly this role would shape my life over the next dozen years. Yet, what I didn’t anticipate was being quizzed about it each time I navigate through airport security checks.

Actually, the actor has earnestly requested that folks refrain from querying him about his TARDIS whenever he’s attempting to catch a flight from point A to point B.

In a chat with Dev Griffin on The Heart Evening Show, Smith expressed frustration about a frequently asked question that he found illogical.

I often receive this question, especially at airports, and it’s something that doesn’t seem to be stopping: “Are you not carrying a TARDIS with you?” However, I find it more casual and friendly to express it as: “People frequently ask me about my TARDIS when I travel, especially at airports.

Nope, not me. If I had, I’d certainly not be waiting in line right now, with the need to reveal my laptop for a seemingly unnecessary inspection, or have you scrutinize my footwear for some unknown purpose.

Well, if I were to arrive with my TARDIS, there’s no question about it – I definitely wouldn’t be waiting in line for your security check. So, could you please refrain from asking?

We hear you, Matt!

The actor, fresh off discussing his punk-inspired character from the latest movie “Caught Stealing,” appeared to have thoroughly enjoyed playing the part of The Doctor.

Previously, he expressed his feelings about the role in this way: “I consider myself incredibly fortunate for having been given the chance to collaborate with exceptional talents such as Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, and Jenna Coleman. Our dynamic was simply outstanding, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment working on that series together.

As a cinephile, I still swell with pride daily at being a part of this captivating realm. It’s a responsibility, much like working on Game of Thrones spin-off “House of the Dragon,” that carries immense weight and stress. Yet, the sense of fulfillment it brings makes every bit of pressure worthwhile.

Previously, Steven Moffat (the ex-showrunner) expressed his wish for the actor to reprise his character – maybe in the future!
