Matthew Morrison & Renee Morrison Share They Nearly Separated

And that’s what you missed in Matthew Morrison and Renee Morrison‘s marriage.

Renee and her husband, who married in Hawaii in 2014 and have two children—7-year-old Revel and 4-year-old Phoenix—are marking their 11th wedding anniversary with a surprising revelation. Renee, 42, admitted that despite appearing to have a perfect family life, they almost divorced at one point.

Eleven years… it feels like a lifetime, and yet, just a blink. Renee and Chris – oh my gosh, Renee and Chris! – posted the sweetest thing today. A video filled with all their memories together, and she called eleven years a ‘sacred number,’ a ‘sacred love.’ It’s just… everything. They’re everything. I’m not crying, you are! It’s so beautiful to see them so happy after all this time. Seriously, eleven years! It’s like a fairytale.

She went on to explain that the reel showed how far they’d come. It all started with wonder, excitement, and a sense of naiveté – built on a strong foundation of loyalty, but challenged by difficulties they never anticipated.

The entrepreneur revealed that the last few years of her marriage had been incredibly tough, though she didn’t specify why. She described the last three years as deeply challenging, saying they fundamentally shook the foundation of their relationship. They came close to separating, facing uncertainty and heartbreak. She explained that they experienced intense grief, confusion, and pain, making it difficult to imagine a future together as a couple.

Even though they faced times that made them doubt everything, Renee pointed out that they kept moving forward.

We continued to grow, learn, heal, and connect with each other. We approached everything with integrity, mutual respect, and a commitment to kindness, even when facing difficult realities and making tough decisions. She explained that loss is a natural part of love, prompting us to let go of the past, grieve, and start anew with honesty and a stronger commitment to those we love.

She observed that their relationship had become strong again thanks to their determination to work through things.

Our relationship has found a fresh, new energy. Over the past year, something wonderful occurred – we actively chose to be together, not because we felt we had to, but because we genuinely wanted to rediscover our connection and be honest with ourselves. We essentially fell in love all over again.

Renee and Matthew first connected at a Grammys party back in 2011, and now she feels the key to a lasting relationship is adapting and evolving as a couple, instead of remaining rigid and unchanged.

She explained that their relationship had changed. It was now built on a newfound gentleness, dedication, and commitment – qualities that hadn’t existed before their breakup.

Even though the path hasn’t always been smooth, she believes everything has been worth it. Renee explained, “We’ve discovered a level of appreciation we didn’t know existed. This fresh chapter in our relationship is a beautiful surprise, incredibly motivating, and feels truly vibrant.”

She concluded the anniversary message with the points of pride they share.

She continued, thanking them for the strong foundation they’d built together, which helped them overcome difficult times. She also appreciated their support and understanding of each other’s feelings, and expressed joy at the wonderful things they were now experiencing together.

Similar to her ambitious character Rachel Berry, Lea Michele is enjoying a fulfilling personal life. While she’s still hoping to win a Tony Award – she’s currently starring in Broadway’s Funny Girl – she’s found love with Zandy Reich, who owns a clothing brand, and they recently welcomed a child together.

In August 2020, she and her husband welcomed their son, Ever, a little over a year after their wedding in Napa Valley (March 2019). This came several months after reports surfaced alleging she had been challenging to work with on set.

She’s described motherhood as a wonderful, yet challenging experience, calling it the most fulfilling thing she’s ever done.

And yes, she does know how to read.

The author, now 32 and with 16 published books, has generally kept his romantic life private. He was first seen with actor and producer Will Sherrod at the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards, and later confirmed their relationship during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in 2014. Like many couples, Sherrod occasionally appears in posts on his partner’s Instagram account.

The couple, who met on a dating app in June 2018 and had a fantastic first date that lasted almost seven hours, appeared together on a podcast in late 2019. The 37-year-old introduced her partner, David Stanley, as a guest on her podcast, Showmance, which she co-hosts with Kevin McHale.

McHale jokingly asked if the California native, who works in politics and for non-profit organizations, was her fiancé, referencing their romantic trip to Italy’s Amalfi Coast as a perfect place to get engaged. She playfully replied, “Not yet, babe.”

Eventually, in August 2020, he proposed to Ushkowitz with a large engagement ring. She excitedly announced on Instagram, “Yes, a million times yes!” Then, in June 2022, Jenna shared that they had welcomed a daughter named Emma.

The actor and podcaster, who publicly came out in April 2018, says he wasn’t secretly hiding his sexuality. He explained that anyone who closely followed his activity, especially his interactions on Twitter, likely already knew. “For a dedicated fan, there would have been no surprise,” he said.

He began a relationship with actor Austin P. McKenzie, wanting to keep it private. They first met on the set of the 2017 miniseries When We Rise, and their friendship gradually turned into something more. Despite wanting privacy, their affection for each other was often visible, both on the show Showmance and on social media. The 34-year-old playfully acknowledged their public displays of affection in an Instagram post, writing, “We’re gross.”

The Emmy-winning actor shared with Parade magazine in 2019 that finding love again in her 50s, after reconnecting with Jennifer Cheyne a few years prior, felt like a true gift.

Let me tell you, life is full of surprises! Before Jane Lynch became a household name as Coach Sylvester, and even before her marriage to Lara Embry, there was Cheyne. We actually had a relationship years ago, then drifted apart, but reconnected a decade later – and it just clicked again. It’s been so easy and loving. We’ve both grown so much, honestly. We’re much more secure now and live a really peaceful life. We definitely respect each other’s space – we each have our own routines and areas to retreat to – but we also cherish those little moments together, like sharing coffee in the morning or enjoying a meal. It’s a beautiful balance, and our rescue dogs definitely add to the joy!

Ugh, seriously, you will never catch me posting one of those sickeningly sweet ‘I married my best friend!’ things. It literally makes me feel ill. I told Keltie Knight and Jac Vanek on Lady Gang before my wedding to Zach Martin that I just…can’t. It’s not my style. Oh, and the wedding was amazing – even Lea Michele, Kevin McHale, and Jane Lynch were there! Lynch actually officiated, which was so cool.

The couple shared wonderful news: they welcomed a baby boy, Rutherford “Ford” Thomas Martin, born through surrogacy in February 2022.

The actor is enjoying life with his son, Revel James Makai Morrison, and wife, Renee Puente. He told TopMob News in 2020 that the love he feels for his son is unlike anything he’s ever experienced. He described it as a strong, enduring bond, and said he’s truly loving being a father.

In 2021, the family grew with the arrival of their daughter, Phoenix Monroe Morrison. Morrison announced that with her birth, their family felt complete.

In 2011, at the peak of her career as dancer Brittany S. Pierce, the 26-year-old revealed to Fitness magazine her strong feelings for Taylor Hubbell, a baseball player at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She expressed a desire to marry him and start a family, saying her relationship with him was her top priority. While she enjoyed acting, she was willing to give it up if it ever interfered with their future together.

After almost ten years, she’s still pursuing her music career and raising her sons, Elijah and Owen, with her husband, Hubbell, successfully balancing both.

The Golden Globe winner admitted to People that they were hesitant about finally marrying their partner of ten years, writer-producer Mia Swier, in 2019. However, they explained that after being together for so long, the marriage felt more like a celebration of their existing life together than a major change. It was a way of acknowledging and sharing what they’d already built, and ultimately didn’t alter their relationship much at all.

He’s completely changed his mind about weddings. He used to be skeptical – he even joked about whether his New Orleans wedding would really be the best day of his life, pointing out he’d had many other great days. Now, he calls the wedding a “magical experience” and says he’d happily get married every year for the rest of his life.

And last April, another perfect day came with the arrival of their first baby, Bluesy Belle Criss.

In March 2019, Matthew Daddario, known for his role in Freeform’s Shadowhunters, and his wife, actress Shelby Rabara (who occasionally appeared on Glee), welcomed their daughter, Xia. The wedding took place a little over three years prior in Costa Rica, and was attended by several of Matthew’s Glee co-stars, including McHale, Ushkowitz, and Amber Riley.

He previously told TopMob News he was excited about becoming a father, but he was especially looking forward to buying his daughter clothes. He confessed he’s already captivated by baby shoes, saying he wants to collect them all so she can wear the cute and tiny pairs.

I was so thrilled to hear that Marley Rose found such happiness! It feels like a real fairytale ending for her. She married Chris Wood, her co-star from Supergirl, in a beautiful ceremony back in September 2019 in Ojai, California. And just six months later, she bravely shared a really difficult part of her past – she talked about experiencing domestic violence in a previous relationship. It was incredibly courageous of her to speak out, even though she didn’t mention who was responsible.

Benoist shared exciting news with her Instagram followers: they’re expecting another child! She playfully noted that her partner, Christopher Wood, has always had a nurturing side, and now he’ll get to experience fatherhood in a whole new way. The couple already share a son, Huxley Robert Wood, born in September 2020.

Just two weeks after giving birth to her son, Jude Jones, in August 2016, the actress was back at work filming the show Trial & Error. Her dedication mirrored that of her character, guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury, and she returned to work with the support of her husband, Adam Campbell.

It was a crazy first month, the 43-year-old told People magazine. Both she and her British actor husband were busy with work, so their parents – both sets of parents – kindly came to stay with them for six to eight weeks to help them get settled before they hired additional help. She described the situation as ‘nuts’.

In December 2013, actress Dot Jones, known for playing Coach Beiste on McKinley High, surprised her friends and family at a holiday party. They had invited loved ones to her Los Angeles home not for a party, but for a wedding! She and her fiancée, Bridgett Casteen, who she’d gotten engaged to just two months earlier at Disneyland, had secretly planned to tie the knot.

Even after ten years, the former athlete and actress still has a special place in Jones’ heart. She once shared her feelings on Instagram, writing, “I LOVE YOU WHOLE HEARTEDLY BABE.”
