Jasveen Sangha will spend more than a decade behind bars.
The woman nicknamed the “Ketamine Queen” received a 15-year prison sentence for supplying the ketamine that contributed to the death of actor Matthew Perry in 2023, the Department of Justice announced.
Before being sentenced on April 8th, Sangha called her crimes “bad choices” and “terrible decisions with tragic consequences.”
Speaking to the court, the 42-year-old stated they ask for forgiveness daily. They also expressed gratitude for the difficult lesson they’ve learned and for being removed from the situation, as reported by NBC News.
In September, Sangha admitted to guilt on charges including using her home as a site for drug dealing, distributing ketamine on three separate occasions, and distributing ketamine that led to a fatal overdose.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this case closely. It’s interesting to see how things played out in court. The defendant’s legal team actually asked the judge to consider that she’d already served enough time, given she’s been in custody since August of last year. But the prosecutors strongly believed the sentence handed down by Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett was the right one, and ultimately, the judge agreed with them.
I was really moved during the hearing when Keith Morrison, Perry’s stepdad, spoke. He specifically commended Judge Garnett, saying the sentence given was incredibly thoughtful and well-justified. It meant a lot to hear him express that support.
Oh, it just kills me how much everyone misses Matthew. I mean, Andrea Canning, who’s actually married to his mom, Suzanne Perry, said it best – she’s absolutely heartbroken, and honestly, she even feels bad for whoever did this! It’s just… a total tragedy. Nobody’s winning here, not at all. It’s just awful, just awful to think about.

TopMob News has reached out to Sangha’s attorneys for comment and has not heard back.
Matthew Perry passed away in October 2023 at 54 years old due to the effects of ketamine. Along with one individual named Sangha, four others have admitted guilt related to his death.
Salvador Plasencia, a 44-year-old former doctor, gave up his medical license in September and is now in prison for 30 months. He pleaded guilty to selling ketamine to Matthew Perry after a patient connected them.
Mark Chavez, 55, admitted to conspiring to distribute ketamine by selling it to another individual who then provided it to Perry. As a result, Chavez gave up his medical license and was sentenced to three years of probation, including eight months of home detention and 300 hours of community service.
Both Kenneth Iwamasa, who used to work for Perry, and Erik Fleming, a drug dealer, have admitted to drug crimes, but they haven’t been sentenced yet.
