WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for Mayor of Kingstown season 4, episode 6.
The latest episode of Mayor of Kingstown, season 4, episode 6, titled “#081693”, is a standout. The series, already a thrilling crime drama on Paramount+, reaches a new peak as the building tension from earlier episodes finally erupts, delivering incredibly engaging television.
The newest episode of Mayor of Kingstown immediately puts Bunny in danger, even before the opening credits finish. The episode then follows Kyle as he adjusts to being moved into the general prison population, where he’s almost attacked before the Aryan Brotherhood intervenes, strengthening Callahan’s influence over someone nearby.
Nina confesses her connection to the cartel and arranges for Kyle to be sent back to solitary confinement in exchange for the capture of Frank Moses. This benefits Mike, Ian, and the police department, as Frank was responsible for the attack on Bunny. After someone attempts to kill Frank as he’s surrendering to the police, Mike shows no intention of helping him.
This episode sees more characters revealing their true colors. Torres lets Mike and Bunny know where Kevin’s loyalties lie, and we learn that CO Breen isn’t just a quick-tempered, corrupt officer – he’s genuinely unsettling, and his actions put CO Cindy at risk.
This sixth episode of Mayor of Kingstown season 4 is arguably the best one yet, both in terms of storytelling and character development. It powerfully sets up what promises to be an exciting and intense final half of a truly exceptional crime drama series.
Mayor Of Kingstown Season 4 Is The Best Crime Series Streaming Right Now
Season 4 of Mayor of Kingstown continues to improve with each episode, and the sixth installment might be the best one yet. Every scene is powerfully acted, sharply written, and expertly directed, making this season remarkably strong from beginning to end.
After the dramatic ending of season 3 – with major character deaths and Kyle’s move to Anchor Bay – the show really needed to find its footing again. Now, with the strength of episode 6, it’s clear that season 4 of Mayor of Kingstown is delivering fantastic results.
Viewers long suspected Nina had connections to the Colombian cartel, particularly after discovering Torres was bringing drugs into Anchor Bay. But it now appears Nina isn’t the top player; someone else is pulling the strings, and that person is also controlling both Torres and Cortez while remaining hidden.
Someone in Kingstown is deliberately working against Mike, creating distance between him and his key supporters – people like Kyle, Bunny, and Ian – which is reducing his influence. Cortez makes it clear: their leader doesn’t care about Bunny and is focused on taking complete control of the city, seeing Mike as a major obstacle.
Mike’s Power In Kingstown Is Draining – Setting Him Up To Take A Major Blow
Dennis P. Mong Jr. / Paramount +
Mike is facing a serious crisis this season, potentially losing someone important like Evelyn or Kyle, as his situation becomes increasingly difficult. While he still seems to be leading the way for now, Frank has been subtly undermining him, and Mike may not realize how much power he’s actually lost in Kingstown.
After a lot of groundwork laid in the first half of Mayor of Kingstown season 4, episode 6 starts to show how the conflict between Mike, Nina, Frank, and Kyle will likely resolve. The cartel has been incredibly powerful this season, meaning Mike needs to work with them to protect Kyle. This could create problems for Frank, but his history of getting things done and his influence might be enough to keep the police from focusing on him.
I find the speed of the plot in Mayor of Kingstown season 4 really stands out, especially when you consider Kyle’s potential prison sentence. He’s facing a maximum of two years, but with good behavior, he’ll probably only serve around six months—unless Evelyn can use her influence as Mike asks. However, with only four episodes left, it feels like Kyle has barely been in prison for a week or two.
This suggests that if there’s a fifth season of Mayor of Kingstown, Kyle might still be in prison unless he dies. Considering how the show has handled main characters in the past, and the emotional scene between Mike and Kyle’s wife in the latest episode, it seems likely Kyle will be killed while Nina is in charge. This would likely set up Mike to seek full-scale revenge in a potential season five.
