Be warned, the following contains spoilers for the season 4 finale of Mayor of Kingstown, episode 10, “Belly of the Beast”! Season 4 of the Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon thriller wrapped up storylines for several characters. Stars Taylor Handley and Richard Brake have hinted that this season might also be the show’s last, even as a new conflict looms. In the latest episodes, Kyle McLusky (Handley) was released from prison and, with assistance from Mike (Jeremy Renner) and Ian (Dillon), finally got his revenge on Richard Brake’s character, Callahan, for the murder of his wife.
Meanwhile, Mike managed to have Lennie James’ character, Frank Moses, arrested, possibly facing prison time. This came right after Tobi Bamtefa’s Bunny and his team significantly weakened a major Colombian drug cartel in the area. But, because a dangerous hitman escaped torture at Bunny’s hands, the town’s drug conflict isn’t over yet.
To mark the end of the season, Liam Crowley from ScreenRant spoke with Taylor Handley and Richard Brake about the finale of Mayor of Kingstown. Handley revealed he’s heard hints about how the series might end, as the show’s creator, Dillon, has shared some ideas for the final moments. While he doesn’t know the exact details, Handley is confident the finale will be excellent, praising the consistently strong team working on the show since the beginning.
Our writing and creative teams are exceptional, consistently delivering high-quality work that sets us apart. I’m really going to miss working with Rich, as acting alongside him was a true highlight of my career. I wish him all the best.
Kyle Could Very Well Have Fallen Under Callahan’s Spell If Not For Mike

ScreenRant asked if there was a scene from this season that was particularly difficult to film, either because it was physically demanding or emotionally intense.
Episode eight was definitely the most emotionally charged scene of the season for Kyle, and possibly the entire show. As an actor, Taylor Handley found performing that scene incredibly rewarding and felt grateful for the opportunity.
ScreenRant asked if Richard, playing Merle, was thrilled to finally have an advantage over Mike after years of rivalry, especially with Kyle living right next door.
Richard Brake felt like it was a divine opportunity for his character. It was exactly what he needed. He was thrilled and determined to use it to get even with Mike for his actions in the previous season.
ScreenRant asked if Kyle and Callahan became close this season, and wondered if Kyle might have joined Callahan’s side if Mike hadn’t exposed Callahan’s true intentions.

Taylor Handley felt like the person was heading down a dangerous path. After accepting the cigarettes and pills from Callahan, it seemed inevitable. Had Mike not stepped in to warn them, Taylor believes they would have gotten much deeper into trouble.
In the show, Kyle’s conflict with Callahan results in Tracy’s death. Richard, turning to you for your thoughts, while Merle consistently demonstrates strategic thinking in Mayor of Kingstown, do you believe he anticipated the consequences of that event?
Richard Brake felt surprised by the reaction to his surrender. He’d assumed it would immediately lead to his imprisonment, completing the task at hand. However, he quickly realized it was a mistake – like making a terrible move in chess, such as giving away a key piece. He believes the other party didn’t understand the gravity of his decision until after he’d handed himself over to them and their team.
