It’s been three years since this actress last appeared in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film, with her most recent roles in Thor: Love and Thunder and The Marvels. She hasn’t been in any MCU projects since, but fans are hopeful she’ll return soon, even though she’s staying tight-lipped about whether she’ll be in Avengers: Doomsday.
Tessa Thompson is playfully avoiding a direct answer about whether she’ll be in the upcoming Doomsday film. During an interview on the Bingeworthy podcast to discuss her new movie, His & Hers, host Mike DeAngelo asked if her time in London coincided with filming for Doomsday. Thompson responded with a simple “I’m not able to confirm anything,” neither confirming nor denying the rumors and keeping fans guessing.
So What Do We Know About A Possible Return?

When the interviewer, DeAngelo, steered the conversation away from physical appearance and toward her character, the actress began to share her experiences working within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including her collaborations with other actors and directors. Thompson confirmed she still has ideas for developing her character, Valkyrie, further, and praised the MCU for the talented people involved – from the world-builders and directors to the actors themselves – and the wide range of storytelling possibilities it offers.
I was so captivated by what she said about her work! She explained how much room there is for both dramatic and comedic expression, and honestly, you could just feel her genuine affection for the character. She’d definitely be open to revisiting it, which is fantastic. We started talking about Jon Bernthal, her co-star from His & Hers, and she shared that they’re still friends and keep in touch. She knew he was gearing up for Punisher and they chatted about that, but more as fellow actors working within that universe. It was funny – they’d never actually discussed how their characters might interact! She even admitted they probably should have talked about that, and she’s curious to see how they’d get along, just like the rest of us.
