Following the inclusion of Marvel Comics’ initial family in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios is now focusing on casting the X-Men for a planned reboot. While the movie is still at an early stage, according to its director Jake Schreier, rumors have continued regarding potential actors being considered for the project. One actor who has been frequently mentioned in connection with the project is Kirby Howell-Baptiste, former star of “The Sandman”, who has been heavily speculated to portray Ororo Munroe, also known as Storm. In a recent interview with DisInsider, the actress gave a somewhat cryptic but intriguing response about Marvel Studios’ interest in her. “I’d be interested in reading that article. It sounds quite interesting!”)
It’s been speculated that both Letitia Wright (Howell-Baptiste) and Jodie Turner-Smith from Queen and Slim have been considered by Marvel Studios for upcoming roles. Turner-Smith has a connection with Disney due to her work on Star Wars series The Acolyte and the upcoming Tron: Ares. Although Wright didn’t provide specific details in response to an interviewer’s question, she did smile when asked about possible involvement with Marvel Studios, suggesting that discussions might have taken place. However, Marvel Studios has not confirmed any casting decisions yet, but they have hinted at approaching actors for roles and considering submissions from agencies. So, it’s plausible that Wright could be in talks for an X-Men role, but we won’t know for sure until more information becomes available.
MCU X-Men Casting Rumors Explained

Known primarily for her role as Death in the recently concluded Netflix series “The Sandman,” inspired by DC comics of the same name, Howell-Baptiste is now set to appear in various other shows such as “Love,” “Veronica Mars,” “Why Women Kill,” “The Good Place,” and “Infinity Train.” Post the cancellation of “The Sandman,” the actress will voice Zinnia McKenna in the upcoming Netflix animated series “Splinter Cell: Deathwatch,” based on the video game franchise. Additionally, she is cast for the movie “Transcending” directed by Mike Luciano and written by Raleigh Cain, alongside Tone Bell, Nicole Byer, and Pete Gardner.
For several years, there’s been buzz about the cast for Marvel Studios’ X-Men reboot. Previously, Taron Egerton was rumored to play Wolverine in the upcoming movie, but he clarified that he has no intention of joining a franchise. On the other hand, Elle Fanning, Margaret Qualley, and Daisy Edgar Jones have all been rumored for the role of Jean Grey. At present, we don’t know who will officially be part of the reboot. Previously, Schreier confirmed that his X-Men film will be significantly distinct from previous movies. If production is slated for next year as suggested, we might learn about casting decisions sooner rather than later.
