MCU’s ‘Wonder Man’ Episode Runtimes Revealed

Marvel Studios’ upcoming series is looking incredibly promising and appears to be on the right track, with some fans already calling it one of the best Marvel projects in years. However, the recently announced episode lengths could be a potential weak point if they prove to be accurate.

TV shows are often judged by how long their episodes are, especially when compared to hits like Stranger Things and Game of Thrones. Unfortunately, the new show Wonder Man is facing criticism because its episodes are notably shorter, rather than longer, than what viewers now expect.

A user on X, @legadodamarvel, shared details about the upcoming Wonder Man series. It seems the show will have episodes similar in length to typical sitcoms, but one episode is listed as being 23 minutes long (including credits), which has sparked some negative reactions online. Here’s a list of the reported episode lengths:

• Episode 1 – 32 Minutes

• Episode 2 – 32 Minutes

• Episode 3 – 32 Minutes

• Episode 4 – 30 Minutes

• Episode 5 – 23 Minutes

• Episode 6 – 34 Minutes

• Episode 7 – 33 Minutes

• Episode 8 – 32 Minutes

The new show, Wonder Man, centers around Simon Williams, an actor trying to get the main part in a major superhero movie remake. While the show’s self-aware style has generated buzz, many fans are disappointed that each episode will be less than 30 minutes long after the opening and closing credits are shown.

One X user reminisced about earlier seasons having between 20 and 67 episodes, questioning the current shorter runtimes. Others expressed their disappointment, with one user declaring the show “dead” to them and another angrily stating that 23-minute episodes felt more like short online videos than full episodes, completely ruining their day.

But many people weren’t shocked, as they’d witnessed similar online backlash before.

Based on what we know about the upcoming Wonder Man series, these reported episode lengths seem plausible, especially with the mention of a 23-minute episode. However, it’s important to remember that this information is still unconfirmed and should be treated as a rumor until Marvel Studios officially announces it.

‘Wonder Man’ Has Had Some Excellent Early Reviews

Disney+

Even though Wonder Man isn’t coming out until January, many people are predicting it will be as good as, or even better than, popular Disney+ Marvel shows like WandaVision and Loki.

The upcoming Disney+ series Wonder Man is being made by Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Andrew Guest, a producer on Hawkeye. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star, moving from his role as Black Manta in the DC Aquaman films to a new part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ben Kingsley is returning as Trevor Slattery, the actor he played in Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Demetrius Grosse will play Eric, Simon’s brother and the villain known as Grim Reaper, and Ed Harris will portray Neal Saroyan, Simon’s agent.

Last September, Daniel Richtman reported that people who had previewed the series called it the best Marvel Studios series ever. It’s still too early to say if that’s accurate, but initial reactions to the trailers have been very encouraging.

All episodes of Wonder Man will drop on Disney+ on January 27, 2026.
