Mebius and Takiya Iijima announce new RPG ONI Zero: Cross

Mebius recently revealed *ONI Zero: Cross*, the latest installment in the *ONI Zero* RPG series. The game is currently scheduled for release in Japan in 2027, though the platforms it will be available on haven’t been announced yet.

ONI Zero: Cross marks the return of the ONI Zero series after a 26-year hiatus, following ONI Zero: Fukkatsu, which came out on PlayStation in March 2001. A follow-up game, ONI Zero: Ruten, was in development but ultimately canceled when the studio behind it, Pandora Box, closed down.

Takiya Iijima, known for his work on past titles, is leading development of the new RPG. Instead of releasing the previously announced *ONI Zero: Ruten*, the team will be creating a completely new game called *ONI Zero: Cross*. The game stars Fujimaru Rengoku, a character originally from the 1995 game *Sengoku Cyber: Fujimaru Jigokuhen*. The story centers around Fujimaru, a ninja, and his allies as they embark on a quest to defeat a powerful demon named Jikuu Douji, all set within a dark and complex human story characteristic of Iijima’s work.

At the same Tokyo Game Show 2025 event where *ONI Zero: Cross* was revealed, Iijima also announced *Psycho Fujoshi*, an adventure game with full voice acting and a protagonist who is a psychotic fujoshi. No images or a logo were presented.
