Megan Fox might be preparing to reprise a famous role, and her original film is now available to stream. After becoming well-known for playing Mikaela Banes in the Transformers movies, she starred in a horror film that wasn’t initially successful but has since gained a dedicated following. With talk of a sequel growing, the movie is once again available for fans to enjoy.
Hulu is now streaming *Jennifer’s Body*, the 2009 horror film that’s become a fan favorite. Directed by Karyn Kusama and written by Diablo Cody, the movie stars Megan Fox as Jennifer, a high school cheerleader who becomes possessed by a demon after a strange encounter with a rock band. She develops a craving for human flesh and begins targeting her classmates. It’s up to her best friend, Needy (played by Amanda Seyfried), to stop her. The cast also includes Johnny Simmons, J.K. Simmons, Amy Sedaris, and Adam Brody. It became available on the platform September 1st.
Why You Should Watch Jennifer’s Body
When *Jennifer’s Body* came out in 2009, it wasn’t well-received. The film flopped at the box office, earning just $31.6 million despite costing $16 million to make. Critics weren’t impressed either, giving it a 46% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences didn’t love it much more, with a 36% score on the site, meaning it was considered poorly received by both critics and viewers.
Though it initially failed with audiences, *Jennifer’s Body* has become a beloved feminist cult classic and continues to resonate in popular culture. Today, the film is praised for its insightful exploration of female anger and the desire for revenge, all powered by its female characters and a strong central friendship. Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried both give compelling performances, and the movie is packed with memorable lines and scenes that make it highly rewatchable. Its popularity has even sparked conversations about a sequel, with Amanda Seyfried recently hinting that one is in the works. According to *Variety*, producer Mason Novick is leading the effort, though details remain limited.
