Okay, so with Metal Gear Solid 4 finally coming to newer consoles, it’s got me thinking about some weird stuff in the game. It’s full of references to the PS3 itself, like it assumes you’re playing on one. Plus, they actually named the iPod as a product you see in the game, which feels super dated now. And the coolest, but strangest, part? You can dress Snake up as Altair from the very first Assassin’s Creed! It’s a really cool crossover, but definitely a product of its time.
Thanks to a new partnership between Konami and Ubisoft, Solid Snake will be featured in an upcoming seasonal update for Rainbow Six: Siege, and we now have confirmation that Rainbow Six: Siege will continue to receive updates.
A recent interview with Game Spark revealed that features from both Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be included in Master Collection Vol. 2. Yuji Korekado, a creative producer, confirmed this collaboration between the two games.
In the original PlayStation 3 version, you could unlock a special costume inspired by Altair. To do so, you needed to earn the Assassin emblem by completing the game with at least 50 knife kills, over 50 close-combat holds, and by triggering the enemy alert phase fewer than 25 times.
The upcoming PS5 version of the game will only include the single-player story mode; the online multiplayer from Guns of the Patriots won’t be available. But players will be able to enjoy the cooperative and versus modes from Peace Walker.
