Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, due for release on PS5 towards the end of this month, will initially not feature its announced online multiplayer mode, Fox Hunt. Konami has confirmed that this mode will be available later in the Fall/Autumn season instead.
The company’s social media announcements have verified that their new multiplayer mode, FOX HUNT, will be released in Fall 2025. Konami describes this online mode as offering an exhilarating hide-and-seek style gameplay experience, focusing on camouflage and survival aspects.
You can see three new screenshots taken from Fox Hunt below:
In action, it seems that this mode sets up a competition between two groups. One group is assigned to blend into the surroundings using their stealth attire, aiming to evade discovery. Conversely, the second group is tasked with locating and eliminating the former team members.
The remake of Metal Gear Solid 3’s campaign is accompanied by a mini-game called Snake vs. Monkey in Delta. In this game, Big Boss hunts down simians from Ape Escape, but in the Xbox version, these monkeys have been swapped out for characters from Bomberman.
On August 28th, 2025, the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater game will be available for PlayStation 5. If you opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition, you’ll get early access two days before the official release. In our preview of the PS5 remake last year, we noted that this game is essentially a modernized version of the original, featuring updated controls and some quality-of-life enhancements. Although the basic controls are still an option, the Delta version has been tailored to make Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater shine like never before.
