At Tokyo Game Show 2025, the team behind Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater showed off more of Fox Hunt, the game’s new multiplayer mode. They also answered questions from fans, including one about the possibility of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
Producer Noriaki Okamura has confirmed that work on the sequel is progressing well, though it’s been a lengthy development process. He stated that after calling the first game ‘Volume 1,’ a second installment was always planned, and they are still actively working on it.
Volume 2 has been in development alongside *Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater*, but Okamura isn’t ready to reveal details just yet. He says they’ll share updates on its progress and future plans when the time is right, and asks for a little more patience. He apologizes for the repeated delays in sharing information.
It’s tricky to say exactly how much longer we need, but the project is progressing well and we’re confident you’ll be pleased with the results. We appreciate your patience and will share more details soon.
There’s a lot of excitement about what *Vol. 2* will include, and many fans are hoping for *Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots*. Released in 2008, this game provides a grand conclusion to Solid Snake’s story. However, it’s currently only available on the PS3 and hasn’t been re-released on any other platforms. We’ll keep you updated on any news, and you can read our review of *Vol. 1* in the meantime.
Okay, so I was checking out the Metal Gear production hotline, and Noriaki Okamura dropped a little hint about Volume 2 of the Master Collection. Basically, he said it’s taking a bit longer than expected. He mentioned it’s been a while since they first started thinking about it, and… well, that’s all he said for now! It sounds like we’re gonna have to be patient for the next batch of classic Metal Gear games.
