Colman Domingo and Paris Jackson recently disagreed publicly about the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael,” directed by Antoine Fuqua. Domingo, who plays Joe Jackson in the highly anticipated film, has now spoken out about the situation. Jackson, Michael Jackson’s daughter, publicly distanced herself from the project last year. Domingo is clarifying what happened before the movie comes out next month.
The conflict began last September after People magazine reported that Paris Jackson and her brother, Prince, supported the upcoming Michael biopic. Paris quickly denied this on Instagram, saying she had no involvement in the film. She explained that she’d reviewed early script drafts and given feedback on sections she felt were inaccurate, but her concerns weren’t taken into account, leading her to disassociate herself from the project.

Plácido Domingo recently spoke to WSJ Magazine about a misunderstanding surrounding some of his previous comments. He explained that his words were twisted and misinterpreted, and that the original article was later updated to accurately reflect his meaning. Domingo said he contacted Paris Jackson directly via Instagram to clarify the situation, and she responded with a heart emoji, indicating she accepted his explanation. He hopes she will eventually appreciate the tribute they created in honor of her father.
