Microsoft has announced that the current version of Windows 11, specifically Windows 11 version 24H2, holds the title as the most dependable Windows release yet. The number of unanticipated restarts has reached an all-time low when compared to the latest iteration of Windows 10. In a blog post outlining upcoming adjustments to the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) screen, Microsoft reports a 24% decrease in such occurrences.
Microsoft senior program manager Monika Sandhu proudly announces in a blog post that the latest version of Windows 11, specifically the 24H2 release, represents their most dependable iteration of Windows to date. In comparison to Windows 10 22H2, failure rates for unplanned restarts have decreased by an impressive 24%. This significant improvement is a result of intensive collaboration between various engineering, design, and user research teams, as well as their dedication to enhancing the overall resilience of Windows for all users.
In the past few weeks, Microsoft has revamped and enhanced the unexpected restart mechanism on Windows 11. They have updated the infamous Blue Screen of Death, replacing it with a sleeker and swifter Black Screen of Death (BSOD) that’s more efficient at generating crash reports.
In simpler terms, this indicates that the duration of the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on your Windows 11 computer will be significantly shorter than before. Microsoft has reportedly optimized the process, cutting down the time required to generate a crash dump from 40 seconds to only 2 seconds. Consequently, when your Windows 11 PC encounters an issue and displays the BSOD, it will return to operation more quickly.
Microsoft estimates that you’re unlikely to encounter the Blue Screen of Death frequently, but in case Windows does crash unexpectedly, recovery should only take a short amount of time. The company has also introduced a feature known as Quick Machine Recovery, which is intended to assist in regaining access to a Windows computer if it has been made unavailable due to a faulty driver or update.
Enhancing Windows Operating System (OS) dependability is what Quick Machine Recovery is all about, a new feature introduced. Earlier, if a Windows computer encountered a boot loop, the user had limited options without direct machine access. With Quick Machine Recovery, Windows can independently diagnose and make attempts to rectify issues potentially causing the boot loop.
These enhancements in reliability are accessible to all Windows 11 users who opt for the update to version 24H2. If you’re currently using Windows 10 or a previous version of Windows 11, it might be beneficial to upgrade if possible, as this will provide a more efficient Windows experience on your current device.
Windows 10 is almost dead
This year, Microsoft is ending the regular support for Windows 10 on personal computers. On October 14, your computer won’t receive automatic security updates anymore. However, you have an option to sign up for Microsoft’s extended security update plan for another year of updates, or consider purchasing a new Windows 11 PC if your current one isn’t compatible with it.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the company has rolled out numerous enhancements to Windows 11, making the upgrade experience truly rewarding for users like me. In the past few weeks, Windows 11 has introduced an innovative PC transfer feature, specifically crafted to simplify the transition from a Windows 10 computer to a Windows 11 one. This feature effortlessly transfers your cherished apps and documents, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free journey!
Microsoft has confirmed that the forthcoming Windows 11 version 25H2 will share the same robust foundation as version 24H2. This implies that when the next Windows 11 update arrives this fall, there should be no compatibility problems or platform instability concerns since it will be based on the same proven platform release as version 24H2, which Microsoft recently hailed as the most reliable Windows version to date.
If you’re currently using an older edition of Windows 11, it’s strongly recommended that you update to version 24H2 immediately. This will provide you with a more stable platform and help you prepare for the upcoming version 25H2. Users of Windows 10 might also want to think about transitioning to Windows 11 now. This can be done by performing an in-place upgrade on your current devices, or by purchasing a new computer that already has Windows 11 installed.
