As a researcher testing the latest Windows 11 preview builds, I’m excited to share that Microsoft is making Copilot even more accessible. Today’s release for Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels includes a couple of key improvements. One of the most useful is the ability to translate any text directly on my screen – I can just use Copilot’s ‘Click To Do’ feature to do it. This should make working with content in different languages much smoother.
With new Copilot+ PCs, you can press and hold the Windows key while clicking your trackpad to quickly access helpful actions and translate text directly on your screen. If you highlight text written in a language different from your system’s settings, a translation will automatically appear, provided by the Copilot app.
A new feature simplifies sharing your screen with Copilot. When you hover over open apps on the Windows 11 Taskbar, a share button will appear, letting you easily send what you see to Copilot. It works much like the screen sharing button you use in Teams meetings, and when combined with Copilot Vision, it provides a seamless way to share and analyze your screen content.
According to a recent Microsoft blog post, you can now share content from open app windows on your taskbar directly with Copilot. This lets you quickly start a new Copilot conversation and use Copilot Vision to analyze what’s on your screen and get helpful insights.
We’ve added new features to make AI tools more readily available within Windows 11. One of these, Copilot Vision, is currently only available in the United States, so users in other regions will need to wait before they can try it out.
Microsoft is keen to let more people try out features like Copilot Vision, and a new integration with the Taskbar makes it easier than ever. You can now simply hover over an app icon, press a button, and Copilot will instantly be able to analyze what’s on your screen – you no longer need to open Copilot and specifically activate the vision feature first.
