Miley Cyrus, who first became famous on the Disney Channel, recently returned to a hairstyle reminiscent of her Hannah Montana days. She debuted the look at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on January 3rd, swapping her typical brown wavy hair for something new.
Miley Cyrus, known for her blonde hair and familiar fringe, combined a bright hairstyle with a sleek, all-black outfit. She chose a fitted Tom Ford suit and a polka-dot shirt with a low-cut neckline for the event.
It was obvious she styled her hair to look like something from a Disney movie. At the event, where she was honored with an award for her song “Dream As One,” the Grammy-winning artist didn’t say much when asked about plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana.
She told Variety in a TikTok video on January 3rd that they are actively developing something, but she couldn’t share any details.
When asked if she could offer a tease, she cheekily replied, “You see the bangs.”
Miley recently revealed she’s open to the idea of bringing back her popular show, which first aired in March 2006. This came after she confirmed her engagement to Maxx Morando in December.
Oh my gosh, when Billboard asked Miley about recasting Hannah Montana for a reboot, she basically said there couldn’t be another Hannah! She was so firm – she said, and I quote, ‘This is the only Hannah!’ It just proves what we all know – Miley is Hannah, and no one could ever replace her. It made me tear up a little, honestly. It’s like she’s protecting Hannah’s legacy, and I’m so grateful!
She hasn’t said exactly how they’ll celebrate the show’s history, but she explained why a celebration is so important.
It’s amazing to look back and see how much we’ve both grown up together, because it’s unusual for an artist to share that journey with the same fans throughout their life. When I started at 15, I’d see teenagers in the audience, and now, as an adult, I see other adults. I really want to celebrate the long-lasting connection we’ve created.
Last year, the star of LOL received a Disney Legend award for her famous role, and she explained that the character she played – a pop star leading a double life – meant much more to people than just being someone on TV.
She explained that Hannah Montana went beyond just being a character. It became her real life. The show started as a story about a normal girl living a fantastical life through a secret identity, but then her own life mirrored that experience, becoming extraordinary because of who she truly was. Celebrating the show’s 20th anniversary feels significant because of that journey.
