For Miley Cyrus, a return to acting wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Almost six years after being featured in a 2019 episode of Black Mirror, the singer known as “Flowers” recently explained what would need to happen for her to act in another movie.
She said she’d be open to returning if the project—whether it’s the opportunity, the script, or the character—felt like a good fit, as she told Entertainment Tonight at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on January 3rd.
Miley received the Outstanding Artistic Achievement award for her song “Dream As One” from Avatar: Fire and Ash at the ceremony, and she also talked about how she felt about being nominated for a Golden Globe in 2026 for the same song.
She added, “I’m just so thrilled! Everything I ever hoped for is happening, and I feel grateful every single day.”
At the event, the 33-year-old hinted at a special project connected to her recent switch to blonde hair: a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana in March. She traded her usual dark hair for a blonde look inspired by the character, complete with Hannah’s famous bangs.
Miley Cyrus has been thinking a lot about Hannah Montana lately. She recently talked about the possibility of bringing the character back for a new audience, especially now that she’s engaged to Maxx Morando, having confirmed the engagement in December.
When asked about potentially recasting the character for a reboot, she told Billboard on December 3rd, “I’m not sure there could be another Hannah. This is the one and only.”
While she hasn’t said exactly how she’ll commemorate the show’s anniversary, the singer of “Wrecking Ball” emphasized how important this milestone is for her and her fans.
It’s amazing to look back and see how much we’ve both grown up together, because it’s unusual for an artist to have fans who grow alongside them. When I started at 15, I’d see a crowd of teenagers, and now I see adults. I want to celebrate how long we’ve been connected and the relationship we’ve built over the years.
