Miley Cyrus may have dropped another album, but she’s still on an endless summer vacation.
Miley Cyrus, known for her role in Hannah Montana and last collaborated an album with live performances during her 2014 Bangerz Tour, recently explained why long-distance travel isn’t essential to her career anymore. This decision doesn’t stem from Reinke’s edema, a vocal condition she manages.
During a July 15 interview on Good Morning America, she made it clear that she is capable physically. She has the chances to perform, but her enthusiasm isn’t there. Additionally, she doesn’t feel that the current system offers enough support for artists.
Miley, aged 32, pointed out Prince, who was always traveling, as her rationale for believing that touring might not be an option for her.
She pointed out that staying sober can be quite challenging while traveling, as it forms a crucial foundation for her. In fact, much of what she achieves depends on her perspective and thought process.
In terms of her past experiences with traveling, Miley confessed that she finds it quite challenging to maintain mental wellness.
Indeed, it’s not a new thing for “The Last Song” actress to share her reasons behind performing live less frequently than before. She’s stated that her past singing habits contributed significantly to her Reinke’s edema, a condition she likened to vocal cord abuse.
As a young, passionate fan, I shared with Zane Lowe at Apple Music back in May that the lifestyle of performing, followed by late-night drinking, smoking, and partying after each show, wasn’t doing me any favors.
Given Miley’s history with Disney, it’s not shocking at all to her followers that she now seems to prefer a more relaxed lifestyle.
In an interview with W magazine last year, Miley reflected on her childhood, saying, “I spent most of my time working hard instead of going to school dances or spending time with friends. Disney benefited greatly from the effort I put in as a child actor, but I don’t have any regrets about it; it’s just the way things were.
Instead of relying on touring, the “End of the World” singer finds alternative ways to maintain a strong bond with her fans.
In a recent tweet from 2023, Miley expressed a stronger bond with her fans than ever before, due to the criticism about not touring. She emphasized that our successes are interconnected: ‘When I triumph, you do too. Although we might not share the stage every night at a concert, my fans are deeply felt within my heart.’
In her words, “I’m always finding unique methods to keep engaged with the audience I cherish, ensuring I don’t compromise on my personal necessities.

Gary Marsh, who was Disney’s president at the time, recounted to USA Today in 2007 that she stood before them and left us speechless. In my 2009 memoir, Miles to Go, I penned about the competition that existed among us girls, a struggle many of us face, and our group was no exception. I yearned to resolve it, but at that time, I was clueless about how to do so. Truth be told, I connected better with guys than with girls back then. However, things changed eventually, as we managed to foster a friendship. It took some time for us to find our rhythm. We both needed to learn to be considerate of each other’s feelings and thoughts.
Following the conclusion of the show in 2011, Miley Cyrus revealed that she had a difficult time discovering her identity, including her role in the 2009 film adaptation, “Hannah Montana: The Movie”.
In an interview with Howard Stern in 2020, she shared that some of her fans became deeply attached to a character that wasn’t her, causing her to question her own self-worth. The show’s premise was that when she looked like herself, people paid no attention, but when she transformed and wore a wig, the response was overwhelming. This left a significant impact on her as a young performer, making her wonder if she was valuable only when she wasn’t being herself.
In 2006, when Miley first crossed paths with her boyfriend Nick Jonas at a charitable gathering, it was love at first sight for her. At just thirteen years old, she confessed to Seventeen magazine in 2008 that they instantly became a couple. Nick had been eager to meet her and expressed his feelings by saying, “I think you’re beautiful and I really like you.” To which Miley responded, “Oh my gosh, I like you so much!
Following a hidden romance, the pair called it quits, and Miley shared that she cried continuously for a month following their separation. She confided in Seventeen, “Nick and I had deep feelings for each other. We still do, but we were deeply in love with one another. Essentially, he was my constant companion for two years.

Later in 2009, the brief rekindling of their relationship led to the creation of The Jonas Brothers’ ballad “Before the Storm,” which included Miley as a feature.
During the filming of “The Last Song” in 2009, Miley Cyrus started dating her fellow actor, Liam Hemsworth. Their relationship was marked by periods of being together and apart, lasting for about a decade before they tied the knot in 2018. However, just eight months after their wedding, they announced their separation, leading to their legal divorce in 2020.
Later on, Miley confessed that the distress caused by losing their home in Malibu due to the California wildfires in 2018 significantly influenced her choice to marry the actor from “The Hunger Games” following a two-year engagement.
She mentioned on The Howard Stern Show in 2020 that they had been together since she was 16 years old. Their home was destroyed by a fire. Although they weren’t officially engaged, it seems they hadn’t seriously considered marriage until their house in Malibu was lost. At that point, she felt strongly about holding onto whatever remained of their shared life, which was her partner. She had and continues to have a deep love for him, a love that will endure forever.
In her 2020 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Miley discussed her initial romantic encounter, openly acknowledging that it was Liam, although she didn’t explicitly mention her former spouse by name.
She exclaimed, “Given that I wound up getting married to him, it’s quite astonishing,” she admitted. “To preserve my image, I falsely claimed that someone else had come before him, thus avoiding being perceived as unsuccessful.
Following her separation from Liam, Miley gained attention when she entered into a fast-paced relationship with alum of “The Hills: New Beginnings,” Kaitlynn Carter. However, their relationship didn’t last long, as Kaitlynn acknowledged that the intense public interest in their romance contributed to its demise after just two months.
She acknowledged on The Viall Files podcast in June 2020 that we truly put in a great deal of effort to maintain privacy, but circumstances being what they are. Going through a breakup under public scrutiny is incredibly challenging…it’s tough. However, there can be much growth and knowledge derived from such experiences as well.
17. In the year 2016, Miley revealed her identity as pansexual to Variety magazine, admitting that she had difficulty comprehending her gender and sexual orientation during her younger years.
She expressed to the media that she has never liked the term ‘bisexual,’ as it still confines her. She continued, “I don’t categorize people based on their gender. Instead, I see individuals for who they are. My nipple pasties and such have never felt sexualized to me. It was around the fifth or sixth grade when my perspective began to change. My first romantic relationship was with a woman. Growing up, I belonged to a deeply religious family in the South.
18. In 2017, Miley claimed she was the inspiration for Katy Perry‘s hit song “I Kissed a Girl.”

She wrote: “The kind of rapid heartbeat I experience isn’t harmful. It doesn’t cause pain, only discomfort, yet it’s always on my mind whenever I’m performing on stage due to my heart.
For approximately six years, Miley followed a vegan diet, but later changed to a pescatarian lifestyle due to her brain not functioning optimally, as she shared on The Joe Rogan Experience in 2020. She mentioned that Liam prepared fish for her to eat after a long time without consuming anything non-plant based, and she vividly remembered, “I cried profusely, for quite some time. I cried for the fish… it was heartbreaking for me to consume fish.
Although “Party in the U.S.A.” is one of Miley’s biggest hits, the artist herself isn’t particularly fond of the popular tune. In a 2019 video, she admitted, “I can’t stand it,” yet for some reason, the public seems to adore it.
In 2013, a petition was published on the official “We the People” website of the White House, suggesting that President Barack Obama should replace our country’s national anthem (“The Star-Spangled Banner”) with “Party in the U.S.A.” instead.
Originally planned to voice the 2021 animated film “Hotel Transylvania”, Miley announced in a 2019 tweet that she had been let go after buying Liam a cake shaped like a penis for his birthday and licking it. (She was subsequently replaced by Selena Gomez, another former Disney star.)
25. In the year 2010, the wholesome Disney persona of Miley was shattered when a notorious video emerged showing her smoking from a bong. As a humorous tribute to this scandal’s milestone, Miley marked its tenth anniversary on Instagram a decade later.
“Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the groundbreaking video featuring a teen smoking a bong and making foolish remarks to their companions, she posted.” (The person who directed this impressive video might not be considered a ‘companion’ but…)
She also addressed an intriguing query, stating, “#YesItWasReallySalvia #IfYouDiscoverWeedThatProducesThisEffect, SHARE.

28. Over time, Miley has been transparent about her struggles with sobriety, even sharing experiences like her relapse during the pandemic.
During an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music in 2020, she admitted openly, “Just like many others, I slipped up.” She continued, “I wouldn’t stand here and claim ‘I’ve been completely abstinent,’ and I didn’t. I stumbled, and I recognized that I am now back on the path of sobriety, two weeks sober, and I feel as though I’ve truly embraced that period.
Miley mentioned that the passing of musicians such as Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain prompted her to reassess her drinking habits when she reached the age of 27.
She expressed that she needed to safeguard herself,” she stated. “This realization, combined with the fact that numerous influential figures have passed away at 27, really motivated me towards sobriety. This stage of life is critical; it’s a turning point or perhaps the end of the line. I believe some artists struggled to manage their own power, energy, and force – it’s an intense energy. Regardless, I was born with that strength.
30. During her flight from Colombia to Paraguay in March 2022, for the 2022 Asuncionico music festival, Miley’s plane needed an unexpected landing due to a lightning strike. Later, she confessed that this event left her feeling somewhat shaken or distressed.
She confided in Seth Meyers, saying, “It was incredibly frightening.” She found herself on her mother’s lap because, given the situation, she believed the importance of seatbelts was no longer relevant.
