Miley Cyrus’ Romance With Fiancé Maxx Morando Is Something Beautiful

Sure, Miley Cyrus can buy her own flowers, write her name in the sand. 

It’s difficult to imagine anyone could love the three-time Grammy winner more than her new fiancé, Maxx Morando.

At the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 1st, Miley Cyrus spoke with Will Marfuggi from TopMob News. She mentioned she’s planning to spend the holidays with her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, and the rest of their large family.

“It’s going to be wonderfully chaotic,” Cyrus quipped, referencing her song “Dream As One” from the third film in James Cameron’s famous science fiction series. “Messy and imperfect – that’s just how families are.”

Morando would probably have been invited to sit with his partner at the dinner anyway, but now, as the drummer for the band Liily, his invitation is official.

Okay, so the buzz is officially confirmed – Miley Cyrus and her partner are engaged! I noticed she was spotted wearing a stunning cushion-cut diamond on that finger – you know, the one on your left hand – while out and about. Multiple sources have since verified the happy news, and honestly, the ring is gorgeous! It’s such an exciting time for them.

I’m so in love! I just shared some photos with my partner, Morando, from a recent red carpet event, and honestly, it feels like we live and dream as a single unit. It’s a beautiful thing!

Although her recent Instagram post seemed to reference a quote about her love for the movie Avatar—where she told TopMob she wanted to make the film feel more relatable despite its grand scale—it’s obvious she and Morando have been collaborating on things for a while now.

After her marriage to Liam Hemsworth essentially ended following the devastating fire that destroyed their Malibu home in 2018, Miley Cyrus found she was content being on her own. She felt strong and self-sufficient, truly thriving independently.

When a friend suggested a blind date with 27-year-old Morando, Miley Cyrus told British Vogue in 2023 that she figured, “At least I can always just leave if it doesn’t go well.”

Instead, she found the kinda dream that can’t be sold. 

This time, she wanted more than just striking looks and perfect hair.

Miley Cyrus recently shared that her mom, Tish, used to encourage her to stay in bad relationships simply because the guys were attractive. She revealed this in an interview with New York magazine’s The Cut, while speaking with her mom and sisters Brandi and Noah Cyrus.

She quickly clarified, speaking about her partner, Morando, “He’s very attractive, absolutely. But more importantly, he treats me with respect.”

Oh my gosh, she said it! She actually said it! She was talking about him, and she said she found someone who means the world to her, someone who’s just… amazing. She said he treats her so well and respects her. I KNEW they were meant to be! It’s just… everything I’ve been hoping for!

And that’s just a few of the far more than seven things she likes about her future spouse. 

Cyrus excitedly shared on the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast that his son, Maxx, is also a Scorpio, just like his grandfather. He explained that this shared zodiac sign is what makes Maxx so special, playfully suggesting it gives him a bit of a ‘sting’.

The singer, known for her energetic personality, says she needs a partner who can handle a bit of wildness. Anyone who couldn’t keep up, she joked, wouldn’t last long.

It quickly became obvious that Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber had a winning combination after they appeared together at the Gucci Love Parade fashion show in November 2021.

In a 2024 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she explained that she and her frequent collaborator share a similar outlook on life – they don’t take things too seriously. After many years in the industry, she said she consistently chooses to work with people she cares about, and that Maxx is a huge inspiration to her.

The musicians got glammed up for a big night out at the 2025 Oscars ceremony.

Later that evening, they debuted new outfits at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.
