Miley Cyrus Shares How Her 13-Year-Old Self Envisioned Her Future

Nobody’s life is perfect, but Miley Cyrus will beg to differ.

It’s been so amazing watching Miley revisit her Hannah Montana days with this 20th Anniversary Special! She recently shared something that really struck me – how she actually predicted where she’d be in life when she was just thirteen years old. It’s wild to think she had this vision for herself back then!

Miley, 33, shared her feelings in an interview with TopMob News’ Erin Lim Rhodes at the Disney+ special premiere on March 23. She said she feels the same way, expressing gratitude for her loved ones, family, and fans, and emphasizing how wonderful her life is, making everything feel just right.

It’s been a big year for Miley Cyrus! She got engaged to Maxx Morando and won another Grammy. And, just as she said, her family and friends were there for her during these important times, including the premiere of her new project. Her fiancé, mom Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and many of her former Hannah Montana co-stars – like Jason Earles, Cody Linley, and Moisés Arias – all came together on the red carpet, dressed in outfits that felt like a trip down memory lane.

Okay, so I was catching up on Miley Cyrus’ recent interview, and she revealed something totally fun! Apparently, while filming Hannah Montana, she and Dylan Sprouse from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody were secretly dating! It’s so cute to hear those little behind-the-scenes stories from her time on the show – definitely a blast from the past!

She revealed to Alex Cooper that she dated Dylan Sprouse, and thought he was really cute – he was her crush at the time.

Okay, so Miley finally talked about Dylan! She didn’t say exactly how long they were together, but she did mention getting to know his brother, Cole Sprouse, too. But she was SO clear – it was always Dylan who had her attention, she was totally smitten with him!

She fondly remembered their dates, saying, “My dad used to take us for sushi. I loved everything about Japanese culture, and it was great because we could bring her brother along too!”

Oh my gosh, when she wasn’t practically living at the Tipton, she was with Nick Jonas! It’s so cute! She actually told everyone how she convinced her team to let him come on her Best of Both Worlds tour in 2007. Like, she had to have him there with her, and she made it happen! They were just the cutest couple ever from 2006 to 2008, seriously!

I toured with the Jonas Brothers because Nick was my boyfriend, and I didn’t want to be away from him. I basically said, ‘I’ll go on tour if he can come with me,’ and they jokingly agreed to let him open for my shows. It was a fun way to make it work!

Miley Cyrus playfully revealed that when she got the role of Hannah Montana and moved to work on the show, she ended things with a childhood crush named Jeff and started dating her co-star, Mitchel Musso, who played Oliver.

Miley recently shared on Disney+ that she had a crush on Mitchel Musso. She explained that she quickly lost interest in her previous crush, Jeff, and was excited about her new feelings for Mitchel, saying she felt ‘set up’ for a good romance.

Miley jokingly asked for the tea kettle, referencing a past incident. She explained that Taylor Swift ended up in the Hannah Montana movie because it was early in Taylor’s career, and the filmmakers needed someone who could realistically perform in a barn setting – something they both had experience with.

Miley also pointed out that Taylor wrote the final song, “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home,” for the 2009 movie, and called it a timeless hit. She said Taylor really nailed it with that song.

The singer shared with Alex Cooper that she and Dylan Sprouse were secretly dating. She admitted she had a crush on him and thought he was really cute.

Miley confirmed that the Suite Life star—who has a twin brother, Cole Sprouse—was her boyfriend at the time. She fondly recalled their dates, saying, “Their dad often took us for sushi. I loved the culture, and it was a great deal—like getting two dates for the price of one! Bring on the brother!”

Though she didn’t mention her fiancé by name, Miley alluded to her love for Maxx Morando.

I feel incredibly lucky to have so much love from my family, and now I’ve found a new kind of love that feels like a really important step in my life as a woman – building a future with someone. Everyone dreams of feeling loved, and I’ve always experienced that feeling in different ways.

Miley asked Selena Gomez, who guest-starred as Mikayla in three episodes of Hannah Montana, about her memories of filming. Miley admitted that a lot of it felt like a blur.

Selena recalled wearing the strange, blue makeup for an alien costume. She admitted feeling self-conscious about it at the time, explaining, ‘We were just teenagers, and I wanted to feel pretty, but I didn’t.’

Miley readily agreed, adding that despite playing enemies on screen, they could now repair their relationship.

She explained that she had the Jonas Brothers open for her concerts because she was dating Nick Jonas from 2006 to 2007.

Miley explained that she toured with the Jonas Brothers simply because Nick Jonas was her boyfriend and she didn’t want to be apart from him. She essentially requested he join her on tour, and they agreed by having the Jonas Brothers open for her shows.

She added, “I was always just like, ‘Well, it’ll be more fun if Nick is there.'”

Miley and her father shared a heartwarming reunion on the set of Hannah Montana. Miley jokingly said he’d gotten a new haircut thanks to her.

She told Alex she was thrilled he was joining them, knowing how important their connection was to the show’s viewers. She believes that when she and her father are on good terms, it has a positive effect on everyone, and it’s just nice to see the family getting along.

Emily Osment—who played Miley Stewart’s BFF Lilly—had a special dynamic with Miley onset.

I felt like Emily was a true partner because I was still learning the ropes,” she explained. “We trusted each other to support each other with the timing, the scenes, and all the rehearsals.

She fondly remembers a trip to Panda Express with Miley, even though Miley feels she didn’t make the best impression that day.

That was always my go-to. I used to do something kind of strange,” she said. “I loved getting white rice at Panda Express and pouring Diet Coke over it instead of soy sauce. It’s a weird habit, I know. It explains why Emily thought I was so different – she probably wondered who this country bumpkin was!

As Miley quipped, “I am from the south in a way that it’s really hard to describe.”

One of the best parts of being named a Disney Legend is having special parking privileges – my parking spot even says ‘Disney Legend’ on it, which is incredibly helpful!

Miley playfully shared that she photographs her parking space and sends the picture to her friends as a reminder of her success. She jokingly says it’s a way of letting people know who she is, and if anyone tries to criticize her, she can simply point to her ‘Disney Legend Parking’ spot.

When directly asked if her character should end up with Jake (Cody Linley) or Jesse (Drew Roy), Miley initially said she couldn’t choose, explaining that both characters were pursuing their own paths. However, she quietly admitted she preferred Jake.

She playfully pointed out that while one person consistently praises her publicly, she hasn’t received any acknowledgment from Jesse at all.

The Grammy-winning artist jokingly confessed she enjoys the idea of a romantic storyline with the character Jake Ryan for her role.
