Miranda Kerrand Katy Perry’s relationship has never been hot n cold.
Model Miranda Kerr, who shares her 14-year-old son Flynn with her ex-husband Orlando Bloom, recently shared how her relationship with Orlando’s former partner, Katy Perry, has grown stronger over time.
Miranda shared on Today With Jenna & Friends that the key to successfully co-parenting with Katy is simply love and respect. She emphasized that remembering everyone is human is crucial, and that prioritizing the children’s needs and making sure everyone feels accepted and loved is what truly matters.
The 42-year-old explained that everyone is simply trying their best to improve and be a good role model, especially for their kids.
KORA Organics founder Miranda Kerr and singer Katy Perry have a close relationship that goes beyond simply co-parenting their daughter, Daisy Dove, 5 (with Katy’s ex, Orlando Bloom). Miranda, who also has three sons – Hart, 7, Myles, 6, and Pierre, 19 months – with her husband Evan Spiegel, was one of the first people Katy contacted after her trip to space on Blue Origin in April.
I asked her how she was doing, and she said the experience had been really intense. I just wanted to make sure she was okay and relieved to see she wasn’t hurt. I really care about her.
Also, the source shared that Katy and Orlando remain friends with each other, even after confirming their split last July following nine years together.
Miranda, who was married to Orlando from 2010 to 2013, recently saw both him and Katy Perry. She mentioned on the Kyle and Jackie-O Show on September 3rd that she spent time with them over the weekend and even has a photo to prove it. She described the moment as sweet, explaining that she and Katy were chatting with Orlando when someone suggested taking a picture together.
She chuckled and added, “Katy sent me a picture of Orlando with both of his exes – me and Katy – and we were all smiling. It was surprisingly nice, like we were one big, happy family.”

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green, parents to Noah, Bodhi, and Journey, prioritize their children’s well-being as they navigate co-parenting. According to Brian, the most important thing is to always focus on what’s best for the kids, understanding that a breakup will inevitably impact them, but they can control *how* it affects them. He emphasizes the need to choose your battles, acknowledging that disagreements led to the separation in the first place, and that co-parenting requires a different approach than the relationship they once had. Megan agrees, stating that it’s crucial to never speak negatively about the other parent, even subtly. She believes accepting and loving their father is essential because he’s a fundamental part of who their children are, both biologically and emotionally.
Josh Duhamel and Fergie continue to demonstrate a positive co-parenting relationship. In a 2023 interview on *The Jess Cagle Show*, Duhamel praised Fergie, calling her an amazing woman and highlighting her welcoming attitude towards his wife, Audra Mari. He noted how fortunate they are to have a civil situation, especially considering how things could have gone.
Duhamel shared that Fergie was genuinely happy for him and Audra when they announced they were expecting their son, Shepherd, who was born in January 2024. Shepherd joined big brother Axl, whom Duhamel shares with Fergie. Duhamel emphasized Fergie’s kind heart and excitement for their growing family. The couple finalized their divorce in 2019, two years after announcing their separation.
Irina Shayk, who has a daughter named Lea with her former partner Bradley Cooper, doesn’t like the label “co-parenting.” In a 2021 interview with *ELLE*, she explained that when she’s with Lea, she’s fully a mother, and when Lea is with Bradley, he’s fully her father. She believes parenting is simply parenting, regardless of relationship status.
Even though Irina and Bradley ended their four-year relationship in 2019, they’ve remained friendly. Despite their busy lives, they continue to take family vacations, spend time together in New York, and support each other.
In a 2023 interview, Irina described Bradley as “the best father Lea and I could dream of,” adding that their successful co-parenting relationship is a result of conscious effort: “It always works, but it always works because we make it work.”
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have found a good rhythm when it comes to co-parenting their twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Cannon says they’re great friends and that Carey has taught him a lot, considering their family connection. Cannon is also a father to several other children: Zion and Mixolydian with Abby De La Rosa; Golden, Powerful, and Rise with Brittany Bell; Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole; and Halo Marie and the late Zen with Alyssa Scott.
We can’t talk about famous splits without mentioning Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. The Oscar-winning actress and the Coldplay singer famously announced their separation in 2014 and coined the phrase “consciously uncoupling.”
As Gwyneth explained on *The Drew Barrymore Show* in 2020, they prioritized their children, Apple and Moses, even when it was difficult. “Some days, you really don’t want to be with the person you’re divorcing,” she said. “But if you’re committed to family dinner, you do it. You take a deep breath, make eye contact, remember your agreement, smile, hug, and make a joke. You recommit to building a new relationship.”
The Goop founder emphasized that she and Martin will always remain a family. “That’s how it will be forever,” she said. “We have good days and bad days, but we’re working towards unity, love, and what’s best for the kids. Just because a relationship ends doesn’t mean you stop loving the qualities you once cherished in that person.”
Following their divorce in 2022, Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady have been navigating the challenges of co-parenting. In a 2024 interview with Robin Roberts, Gisele admitted some days are harder than others, but emphasized her children, Benjamin and Vivian, are smart and adaptable. She focuses on controlling her own actions and allowing them to navigate their own way. Gisele believes a balanced schedule, with both she and Tom spending time with the kids, is beneficial. She feels it allows them to experience different perspectives and learn from two different worlds. Tom echoed this sentiment, stating that he and Gisele are both committed to raising their children – including Jack, his son with Bridget Moynahan – with love, kindness, empathy, and strong values, even as they grow up in a different world than they did.
Ben Affleck, having played a superhero himself, recognizes one in his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. He considers her a superhero mom, especially given how well they co-parent their three children – Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. Affleck, who divorced Garner in 2015 after years of marriage, told TopMob News in 2016 that he feels lucky to have her as a co-parent, emphasizing their shared commitment to putting their kids first. Jennifer Lopez, who married and later divorced Ben in 2022, also praised Jennifer Garner, calling her an amazing co-parent and noting that they work well together.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always admired couples who prioritize their children, even after a relationship changes. That’s definitely the case with Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik. While they split in 2021, they’ve really stepped up as co-parents for their daughter, Khai. Zayn shared that they have a genuinely good relationship for Khai’s sake, and she’s always their priority – and that’s wonderful to see! Gigi has echoed that sentiment, emphasizing how important it is to keep a child’s happiness at the heart of everything, because you’ll be connected to your co-parent for a long time. She also expressed how happy she is that Khai gets to have a relationship with both of her parents, and honestly, that’s the ultimate goal for any co-parenting situation.
Khloe Kardashian is continuing to co-parent with her ex, Tristan Thompson, despite past difficulties. She admits it’s challenging to maintain a positive relationship with him, especially considering his history of infidelity, but she’s committed to doing what’s best for their children, True and Tatum.
Khloe explained to *tmrw* that it’s hard to be friendly with someone you’re angry at, particularly in front of their kids. She’s learned to manage her emotions and avoid impulsive reactions she might later regret. Ultimately, she prioritizes being a kind person.
Khloe wants her children to have a strong bond with Tristan, who also has a son, Prince, with Jordan Craig, and another son, Theo, with Maralee Nichols. She believes that if a father wants to be involved in his children’s lives, she shouldn’t stand in the way.
Although Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr separated in 2013, they continue to successfully co-parent their son, Flynn. This includes a positive relationship with both of their current partners: Katy Perry, Orlando’s partner, and Evan Spiegel, Miranda’s husband.
Miranda has spoken fondly of Katy, expressing her happiness that Orlando has found love. She emphasized that the happiness of Flynn’s parents is the most important thing. She’s also grateful to have found her own happiness with Evan.
Despite busy schedules and growing families – Orlando and Katy now have a daughter named Daisy Dove, while Miranda and Evan share three sons, Hart, Myles, and Pierre – they all make an effort to come together for important occasions. Miranda explained that they prioritize Flynn’s well-being and find compromises that work for the entire family, always focusing on what’s best for him.
Kate Hudson believes it’s important to maintain friendly relationships with her exes, Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy, unlike some who let those bonds fade. She explained to The Sunday Times in 2022 that she and Chris simply check in with each other periodically, as they co-parent their son Ryder.
She also praised Matt Bellamy, father of her son Bingham, calling him a “wonderful” co-parent. Kate believes that love doesn’t disappear just because a romantic relationship ends, and that it’s possible to build a different kind of loving connection focused on their child.
Kate is also a mother to daughter Rani, with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa. She feels her family setup, though unconventional, is incredibly strong. “It might not look traditional from the outside, but on the inside I feel like we’re killing it,” she said. “The unit that I’ve created with three children with three different fathers is a seriously strong unit, and it’s ours.”
Okay, so I’m totally obsessed with Anna Faris and I’ve been following her and Chris Pratt’s co-parenting situation for *years*. It used to seem so strained, but honestly, it’s amazing to hear how things have changed! Anna said they’re actually getting *closer* – her, Chris, and Katherine Schwarzenegger! Can you believe it? She told *People* that they’re all really supportive of each other, and she appreciates how protective they are of her, and vice versa. She even called Katherine ‘awesome’! Apparently, Katherine is just so great with Jack, their son, and Anna loves how she handles everything. It’s just so heartwarming to see them making it work! Anna said it feels *so* much easier now that time has passed, and that she finally doesn’t have that awful, churning feeling inside anymore. And honestly, knowing they’re all happy makes *me* happy! It’s just a really beautiful blended family situation, and I’m so glad they’ve found a way to make it work, especially with Anna now happily married to Michael Barrett.
It’s helpful when parents who share custody can agree on things, and Mel B says it wasn’t easy for her and Eddie Murphy to build that kind of connection at first.
Mel B, of the Spice Girls, explained that past trauma and controlling behavior made it difficult to build a strong relationship with Eddie Murphy. She shared with Us Weekly in May 2025 that she gradually managed to improve things. However, she also noted that their friendship has actually grown stronger in recent years, especially since their daughter, Angel, is now able to spend time with Murphy and his other children. Mel B praised Murphy as a dedicated father, mentioning he has ten children and they often enjoy holidays together.
Even though the TV show *The O.C.* was known for its drama, Rachel Bilson and her ex-partner Hayden Christensen have a positive co-parenting relationship. Bilson, who shares daughter Briar Rose with Christensen, told *People* magazine in 2024 that “Everything’s good” and that their daughter is thriving with support from both sides.
