The Miss Universe competition is off to a slippery start.
During the November 19th event, Gabrielle Henry of Jamaica fell while walking on stage in the evening gown portion of the preliminary competition.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the video! Henry, who’s 28, actually walked the Miss Universe runway – in a stunning, sparkly orange gown and cape! He posed for the judges like a pro, but then, as he turned to walk, he unfortunately fell right off the stage. It was a shocking moment, but honestly, I was so impressed he even tried it!
More video of the incident shows bystanders rushing to help, carrying her away on a stretcher so she could get medical care.
Only a few hours after the incident, the Miss Universe Organization provided information about Henry’s injuries. This happened shortly before the Miss Universe competition finals, which are scheduled for November 25th in Thailand.
According to a statement, she was taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital and is receiving medical care. Doctors have confirmed her injuries are not life-threatening, but they are continuing to run tests to make sure she fully recovers.
As Henry recovers, his organization has asked supporters around the world to remain positive, offer prayers, and send well wishes as he receives medical treatment.
Raúl Rocha, President of the Miss Universe Organization, posted on Instagram that he went to the hospital to visit Henry.

I’m happy to update everyone concerned about Miss Universe Jamaica’s health. I just left the hospital in Bangkok where she’s receiving treatment. I was with her and her family, and thankfully, she hasn’t broken any bones and is in good hands. She’ll be monitored overnight, and we’ll continue to support her and her family.
“Our prayers go out for her prompt recovery,” he added.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Brie Bella – my absolute fave – told everyone that her breast implant actually moved after getting hit with an elbow from Piper Niven during a match in July 2025! Can you even imagine?! It’s crazy to think about, and honestly, just proves how tough these wrestlers are! I was so worried when I heard, but Brie is a warrior!
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that she would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she retired from her current job, she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she planned to actively use it again and didn’t want it to appear neglected.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her acting.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that growing up, many of us are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being female. This often leaves people feeling like they’re dealing with a very common issue all by themselves.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happens when there’s a gap in the abdominal or groin muscles, and in her case, it was caused by wearing very tight pants.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “You haven’t tweeted in a while!” Suki replied with a surprising explanation: she’d been afraid to mention she injured herself six months ago – a tight pair of pants caused a hernia, and she’s been dealing with it ever since.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery because his appendix was close to rupturing.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain, which led him to the emergency room. Doctors discovered his appendix had a hole in it – it hadn’t fully ruptured, but was very close to bursting.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against the Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder from Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player sat down on the field with a teammate supporting her, and then quickly collapsed. Trainers were called to assess her condition.
Savannah received immediate medical attention on the field and was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

Adam Devine revealed that he still feels the effects of injuries he suffered as a child when he was hit by a cement truck at age 11.
“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms throughout my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the last year, actually.”
He acknowledged that pain is often temporary, explaining that his body has some minor imperfections and doesn’t always function perfectly.

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said the pain was so bad he had to crawl to get help, and it got worse during a road trip with a friend.
I was really shocked listening to his podcast back in March 2025. He described how his knees still felt tingly, which is so strange! He put it in perspective by saying that just a few weeks before, he was squatting almost 300 pounds. But now? He can’t even do a squat, can’t balance on one leg, and actually falls over. He said it felt like he’d had a stroke, and it honestly sounded terrifying to hear him describe it.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter from The Real Housewives of Orange County revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is now doing okay.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a weapon unsafely. Brendan Rooney quickly helped her, evaluated her injuries, and drove her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet came dangerously close to her right eye – less than an inch away.
According to the former Kim Possible star, a small piece of something is stuck behind her eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, and they’ll continue to watch her condition, as her vision is currently normal.
As a huge fan, hearing her speak truly moved me. She shared how incredibly thankful she is to still be with us, and her love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends just poured out. She said she literally saw her whole life pass before her, and it really hit home – she urged everyone to hug their loved ones tightly because things can change so quickly. It was a powerful reminder to cherish every moment.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its downsides, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and receiving critical comments online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid use. This prompted Amy to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, which she called “the greatest news imaginable.” Amy is now relieved to be healthy and attributes her diagnosis to the attention she received online.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, unable to speak and experiencing drooping on the right side of her face. Although these symptoms eventually subsided, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she had a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to travel to her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now feeling well.

The same year Hailey experienced a health issue, Justin also faced a medical challenge. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually subsided. Hailey later shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, stating that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be okay and she was grateful he was fine.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, Foxx explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became worried and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
After surgery, Foxx woke up on May 4th in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for extensive rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the support he received, saying, “I appreciate every prayer, because I needed every prayer.”

The reality TV star said she temporarily stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the series, she experienced a sudden, severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, quickly realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she struggled with aphasia, leaving her unable to speak coherently.
Though she initially recovered and was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring a second surgery. This procedure was unsuccessful, leading to a major bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia reports that she has now made a full recovery and is back to 100 percent.

Her hospital stay ended up being longer than expected due to existing health issues. While she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with problems related to lupus and kidney failure. Cori is now recovering well, saying she’s “doing great” and has been working to regain some motor skills. Overall, she feels much better.

Shailene Woodley struggled with serious health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and persistent stomach pain. She saw many doctors, but received conflicting diagnoses. Determined to find answers, Woodley, who comes from a holistic health background and studies herbalism, sought help from both traditional doctors and alternative healers.
This health journey lasted a decade and had a significant impact on her mental well-being. She developed a fear of food due to her stomach issues, which led to body image concerns and questions about her identity and sense of self.
Fortunately, after years of focusing on both her physical and mental health, Shailene is now feeling much better and considers herself very healthy. She’s grateful to be in a good place and is happy to share that her health issues have resolved.
