Miss Universe Mexico is not letting anyone dim her shine.
Following a public reprimand from Nawat Itsaragrisi during a Miss Universe preliminary event in Thailand, Fátima Bosch has spoken out. Itsaragrisi called the 25-year-old contestant “dumb” and had her removed from the event after she didn’t fulfill a competition requirement.
In a recent interview, Bosch stated they aren’t afraid to speak up for what they believe in. Sharing their message on Instagram, they emphasized their strong sense of purpose and desire to be heard, saying, ‘It’s here stronger than ever. I have things to say.’
Bosch strongly criticized Itsaragrisi’s outdated pageant style, stating, “We’re living in the 21st century now.”
She explained she wasn’t there to be simply admired or have her appearance altered. She was there to speak for all women and girls who stand up for what they believe in, and to show her country how dedicated she was to that purpose.
Itsaragrisi is a Thai businessman who leads Miss Grand International, as reported by USA Today. He also holds a leadership position at Miss Universe, serving as vice president for the Asia and Oceania regions.
Besides Bosch, the official Miss Universe social media accounts also spoke out against Itsaragrisi’s comments. They shared a video statement from president Raúl Rocha, which was originally captured during a Facebook livestream by Miss Universe Thailand.
In a statement, Rocha expressed her full support for all 122 delegates competing in Miss Universe, which is being hosted in Thailand. She firmly stated that she will not tolerate any disrespect or mistreatment of the contestants.
Okay, seriously, when Itsaragrisi just forgot what hosting is even about?! It was like they completely lost sight of what makes a real host, you know? It just… it bothered me so much. Like, the whole point was missed! I was honestly shocked.
He explained that as the host, he felt a duty to take care of and help all the delegates from every country. He wanted to make sure they had a special, positive experience marked by friendliness and respect.

The Miss Universe president stated that Itsaragrisi’s actions went against the spirit of fair and respectful competition the organization aims to promote.
He clarified that he was very upset with Nawat for publicly attacking Fátima Bosch, Miss Universe Mexico.
Rocha stated that the host had deeply disrespected the pageant contestant, going so far as to humiliate and insult her. He also criticized the host’s decision to call security, describing it as a form of intimidation against a vulnerable woman.
Itsaragrisi’s role in the Miss Universe pageant will be limited, Rocha confirmed.
He ended his statement by emphasizing that Miss Universe is a platform that empowers women and gives them a voice on the world stage.
