Sony Interactive Entertainment and San Diego Studio have revealed that MLB The Show 26 is in development. Details about which platforms it will be available on and when it will be released haven’t been shared yet.
San Diego Studio announced they’ve always aimed to make baseball accessible and enjoyable for everyone – whether you’re a lifelong fan or just starting to play. This year, they’ve added new features to help you do just that.
The developer explained that the team worked hard to create fresh ways for fans to experience the game. This includes new high school and college storylines in Road To The Show, as well as exciting new features like Diamond Quest and Weekend Classic in Diamond Dynasty.
We updated the game with exciting new features in ShowTech, including a redesigned throwing system and a ton of fresh animations. We also improved Franchise Mode to make the offseason more engaging and meaningful. Plus, we continued our dedication to baseball’s rich history with a new season of Storylines focused on The Negro Leagues.

As a huge fan of the series, I was really happy to see the team started sharing updates earlier last year, and they’re planning to keep doing that! That means we’re getting a first look at what they’re working on for MLB The Show 26 – check out the details below to see what’s coming!
- Gameplay – Gameplay continues to focus on delivering the most authentic on-field baseball experience. We’re focusing on advanced logic and new data metrics… redefining ratings, pitch effects, and bat ball physics.
- Diamond Dynasty – Now and Later Packs are just the beginning. We will continue delivering engaging content for players to live their MLB fantasy as well as new ways to play and use your squads.
- Road To The Show – Experience the ultimate player’s path; building off MLB The Show 25, MLB The Show 26 takes Road To The Show further than ever before, with a suite of new colleges and a focus on the mid-to-late career.
- Franchise – Continue evolving the front office experience by building deeper, more immersive, and challenging systems shaped by community feedback.
- Storylines: The Negro Leagues Season 4 – Celebrate the rich history of baseball with the continuation of Storylines: The Negro Leagues, the award-winning mode that invites fans to take the field and play in the moments that shaped the careers of some of the sport’s most talented yet often overlooked legends.
