Today, the developers of MLB The Show 26 revealed the game’s release date and some initial details. Recently, San Diego Studio surprised fans by announcing there wouldn’t be a new player featured on the game’s cover, leading to speculation about a potential first for the series. Now, the studio has explained the reason behind this decision.
The cover of MLB The Show 26 will feature New York Yankees star Aaron Judge, as shown in the first trailer. This is the second time Judge has been on the game’s cover, following his appearance on MLB The Show 18. San Diego Studio had said they wouldn’t use a completely new athlete on the cover this year, and that statement proved to be true.
MLB The Show 26 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC starting March 17th. Players who buy the Digital Deluxe Edition can start playing four days earlier, on March 13th. Fans are disappointed that there’s currently no announcement for a Switch 2 or PC version of the game.

San Diego Studio hasn’t revealed much about what will be in MLB The Show 26 yet. However, they have confirmed that the World Baseball Classic content will return to the Diamond Dynasty mode this year, before the tournament begins in March. While details are still limited, this content was very popular with players when it was included in MLB The Show 23.
Good news for fans of MLB The Show 26! The first trailer is coming out next week on February 3rd, giving us a sneak peek at the new features and improvements. We’ll have all the details and the latest news right here on ComicBook as soon as it’s released, so stay tuned!
