Model Donald Zieben-Hood Arrested After Estranged Husband Found Dead

Warning: This article discusses domestic violence.

Donald Zieben-Hood is facing legal trouble.

On August 3, the model was formally accused of burglary and disrespecting the court, following the discovery of Jacob Zieben-Hood’s body in a New York City apartment two days prior, as indicated in the charging papers acquired by NBC New York.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Jacob was found deceased, leaning over a bathroom fixture with multiple stabbing injuries. There were wounds on various parts of his body, such as a gash on his head and deep gashes on the back of one leg that penetrated the muscle. The district attorney confirmed these details. Notably, this personal trainer – who had been under a restraining order against Donald since the previous year – did not survive; he perished at the crime scene.

According to the documents, Donald, who needed stitches on his arm, informed 911 that he had discovered Jacob deceased in the bathroom. He additionally confessed to the operator that he was concerned about being apprehended for breaching the order, as reported by authorities, since he had been instructed to keep away from Jacob due to a directive.

Law enforcement officials went to a residence in Harlem, where the model claimed that Jacob had assaulted him with a knife. Nevertheless, the district attorneys pointed out that Jacob’s father reported receiving a phone call from his son, during which it appeared that Donald was verbally abusing and threatening the 34-year-old.

The couple had a history of domestic abuse since at least 2022, according to the police docs.

According to TopMob News’ review of court records, he maintains his innocence regarding the accusations and is scheduled to appear in court again on August 7th. While Donald has not been indicted for Jacob’s death, authorities are looking into the case as a potential homicide.

On this occasion, it wasn’t a new offense for Donald, as he had previously been accused of threatening Jacob with a kitchen knife in June, according to the court documents. In February, prosecutors claimed, he was charged with strangulation and other offenses due to an alleged attack on Jacob. However, Donald pleaded not guilty to all charges, as indicated by online court records. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 28th.

TopMob News attempted to contact Donald’s lawyer and the NYPD for their response, but we are still awaiting a reply.
