Monster Hunter Wilds started strong in early 2025, selling 10 million copies in its first month. However, sales quickly dropped, and the PC version continued to have performance problems. Now, Capcom is letting players know that when support for Windows 10 ends, three recent Monster Hunter games may no longer work correctly on that operating system.
Capcom recently posted an update on Steam to inform players that Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 on October 14th. Because of this, Capcom announced, “we can no longer assure that Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise, and Monster Hunter Wilds will function correctly on Windows 10 systems.”
So, the publisher told me that I can still play these games on my current system even after the cutoff date. However, they warned me that future updates might cause problems, potentially making the games not work on Windows 10 anymore. It’s a bit of a bummer, but at least I can finish what I started for now!
A leader at Capcom recently stated that sales of Monster Hunter Wilds haven’t been as strong as expected because the PlayStation 5 is quite expensive. Capcom recognized there were problems with the game on PC back in June, and after releasing an update, the number of players increased significantly. Last month, Capcom released another patch for Monster Hunter Wilds, but the more significant issues on PC won’t be fixed until an update planned for this winter.
I was so excited to see that Capcom just dropped a crossover between Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV earlier this week! It looks amazing. And if that wasn’t enough, they also gave us a little tease about the return of the elder dragon Gogmazios in Free Title Update 4 coming in December. I can’t wait!
