I was really looking forward to today – it was scheduled to be the next Monster Hunter Showcase, where they planned to share all the newest updates on both Monster Hunter Wilds and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.
Capcom has shared that the Monster Hunter Showcase has been delayed because of a recent tsunami warning in Japan.
Due to the recent tsunami warning following an earthquake near Japan, we’re postponing today’s Monster Hunter Showcase, originally planned for 2pm PST / 10pm GMT. We’ll let you know the new date as soon as we have it.
A 7.6 magnitude earthquake off the northeastern coast of Japan triggered a tsunami warning. The earthquake occurred at 2:33 pm GMT, which is 9:33 am Eastern Time and 6:33 am Pacific Time, according to Sky News.
Following the recent earthquake, the Japanese government has ordered thousands of residents to evacuate. They anticipate a tsunami with waves up to three metres high, which could cause significant damage to buildings in coastal areas.
Capcom has cancelled the upcoming Monster Hunter Showcase and is following evacuation orders, with no new date announced yet.

The latest Monster Hunter showcase announced details about the upcoming 4th Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds. This update will bring back Gogmazios, a popular boss originally from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, as a challenging endgame opponent.
It was also meant to show off more features of the upcoming title update such as:
- New endgame systems like upgrading the Artian Weapons to their final form using Gogmazios materials and upgrading armor into Transcendent Armor with higher defense.
- PC performance improvements to address CPU and GPU complaints players have been review-bombing the Steam version about for months.
- Easier methods to obtain Armor Spheres.
- Balance adjustments for all Weapon Types.
- New 9-star quests.
- A new Seasonal Event called the Festival of Accord.

The Monster Hunter Showcase also revealed new details about Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, the newest game in the turn-based Monster Hunter spin-off series.
Last October, the game revealed its character customization options, started accepting pre-orders, and released a trailer announcing the return of Yama Tsumaki, a powerful Elder Dragon not featured in a Western Monster Hunter game since Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
We’ll share more information about the Monster Hunter Showcase’s new air date as soon as it’s available.
