Monster Hunter Wilds: How To Unlock Omega Planetes Quest

Here’s a breakdown of the Omega Planetes quest in Monster Hunter Wilds’ TU3, including how to unlock it.

Okay, so Omega Planetes is seriously the biggest thing added to Monster Hunter Wilds. It’s not just part of what looks like a huge collaboration event, but honestly, it’s one of the toughest monsters in the whole game, maybe *the* toughest. I’ve fought a lot of hard monsters, but Omega Planetes is on another level – it’s more difficult and visually impressive than things like Tempered Lagiacrus, Seregios, and even Gore Magala. It’s a real challenge!

Before you can battle the Omega, you’ll first need to demonstrate that you’re capable of facing it. Put simply, before the Omega Planetes hunting quest becomes available, you need to meet certain requirements.

Here’s a complete guide to the Omega Planetes quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, including details on how to unlock it.

Requirements for the Omega Planetes Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds

Before you can start the quest for Omega Planetes, A Peak Predicament, you’ll need to reach HR (Hunter Rank) 41. This means finishing all of the main High Rank quests, which will get you to HR 41. You also need to finish the extra quest for the High Rank Zoh Shia.

After you reach HR 41 and finish the Zoh Shia quest, you’ll receive a request from Rove (located in Iceshard Cliffs). Speaking with Rove will begin the The Artifact’s Words quest. While this quest is relatively brief, it serves as an introduction to the larger storyline.

To finish this quest, you must defeat a special aberrant Nerscylla. But be careful – this isn’t a typical Nerscylla. It’s a clone made by Omega Frame, and it has learned some new attacks. Plus, it can summon Omega Micros, which are like baby Nerscylla, and they can inflict a lot of damage.

After finishing The Artifact’s Words, you’ll be able to start A Peak Predicament. While this quest becomes available at HR 41, we suggest waiting until you reach HR 50 or higher before attempting it. Omega presents a significant increase in difficulty, so having a fully optimized, late-game build is crucial for success.

How To Unlock Omega Planetes (Savage) in Monster Hunter Wilds?

After finishing the A Peak Predicament quest, you’ll be able to create the Dark Knight set and the Shadowbringer Great Sword. But if you want a tougher fight, TU3 offers just that. It introduces a “tempered” version of Omega – a more difficult version that becomes available once you’ve defeated the standard Omega boss. There’s essentially a harder version of the fight to test your skills.

This quest is open to players who have achieved a Hunter Rank (HR) of 100 or higher. The challenging Omega Planetes (Savage) quest is called “Planetes Protocol” and can be found under the Event Quests section.
