As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been experiencing some frustrating crashes with the latest Monster Hunter Wilds update. Fortunately, it seems Capcom has caught wind of this issue and is tirelessly working behind the scenes to sort out the troubles arising from the 1.021 update for Monster Hunter Wilds.
Launched this year, the video game titled “Monster Hunter Wilds” has emerged as one of the most sought-after games of 2025. Notable sales figures suggest that over 10 million copies of this game have been sold, with approximately 80% being bought during its initial three days on sale. However, despite the remarkable achievement of “Monster Hunter Wilds”, it appears that developer Capcom is facing challenges in keeping up the game’s popularity, as only 477,000 copies were sold in the last quarter, and the game has seen a steep decline in its Steam player base by nearly 98%.
Capcom is ‘Aware’ That Monster Hunter Wilds Is Crashing for Some Players After Recent Patch
Currently, Capcom has rolled out Update 1.021 for Monster Hunter World, however, some gamers have pointed out that this update has introduced a significant problem. In a recent social media statement, Capcom acknowledged the issue, explaining that the game could potentially crash when players revive and travel to camp or complete a quest under specific circumstances during Fast Travel. The team is actively working on resolving the issue and plans to release the 1.021.01.00 patch to fix it, but there’s no confirmed timeline for when this update will be available.
In the latest update, version 1.021, for Monster Hunter Wilds, some exciting new elements have been incorporated. This includes a novel appraisal item called the Glowing Stone and a Recoil Aim Assist feature. Moreover, a new attribute related to Appraised Talismans has been introduced to the Melding Pot. The update also addressed numerous bugs and fine-tuned the balance in the action-adventure game to ensure an optimal player experience.

In upcoming updates, the performance of “Monster Hunter Wilds” on PC will also be enhanced. As stated by game director Yuya Tokuda, one of the current objectives of the development team is to lessen CPU strain without compromising the game’s performance, which might become available following the fourth title update, scheduled for winter.
It’s hoped that all these concerns will get resolved swiftly. The game Monster Hunter Wilds was greeted with overwhelming praise upon release, earning an average score of 89 on OpenCritic. However, some fans have pointed out the absence of regular updates as a point of criticism. If the game can boost its PC performance and deliver more content without causing new problems, Monster Hunter Wilds may reclaim its position at the summit.
