SCREEN JUICE showed off a new trailer for their action game, *Morbid Metal*, during the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct. The trailer focused on the game’s quick and exciting combat, which fans have already enjoyed in previous previews. Although there’s no confirmed date for an early access release yet, players can sign up to participate in upcoming playtests.
You can sign up for access on Steam now, but the dates for playtests haven’t been announced yet. The developer plans to hold small, focused playtests to improve the game, which means the early access launch is being pushed back to a later date. Originally, *Morbid Metal* was scheduled to release on August 20th, but after getting feedback from the demo, the release has been delayed until Fall 2025.
I’m still waiting to find out if this game will be delayed past this fall, and maybe even into 2025 – fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too long! It’s a really cool hack-and-slash rogue-lite coming to PC where you play as a team of warriors fighting their way through a dark, futuristic world. What I love is that each warrior has special powers, and you can swap between them on the fly to create awesome combos. As you play through each cycle, you’ll unlock upgrades and something called ‘Routines,’ and it looks like you’ll actually make permanent progress, which is great!
