Mormon Wives’ Mikayla Matthews & Jace Terry Separate

Mikayla Matthews and Jace Terry are spending some time apart.

After eight months of being a mom to her fourth child, a daughter named Lottie June, the star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has revealed she and her husband are temporarily separating due to difficulties in their intimate relationship.

Mikayla revealed in a recent episode that she and Jace spent the night discussing a possible separation. She explained that the stress of online parenting commentary (‘MomTok drama’) combined with her desire to fix their marriage has become overwhelming, and they’ve both decided to try living apart.

The 25-year-old, who shares three children – Beckham, 8, Haven, 6, and Tommie, 4 – with Jace, made it clear she doesn’t consider their separation final.

After years of therapy, Mikayla felt she hadn’t made enough progress with her personal issues. She told her husband, as she packed a bag to spend time with her colleague Mayci Neeley, that she didn’t see this time apart as a permanent separation.

She said they’ll definitely continue to see each other daily, as she doesn’t want to spend any time apart from her children anyway.

Although Jace, 30, agreed with the decision, he shared his own stipulation for their separation.

He explained that for things to work, they shouldn’t get back together until she was ready to fully commit to the relationship.

Mikayla’s marriage suffered as she started to deal with the painful memories of sexual abuse she experienced as a teenager, and her ongoing health problems, which worsened when she was stressed.

She told Jace that talking about sex or intimacy was difficult for her. She explained that she’s already feeling overwhelmed and on edge, like she’s reached her limit, and these conversations just add to that stress.

Looking back on it, the mother of four said she was worried about Jace asking to do that.

She admitted it’s hard to say how long it will take to work through things, possibly weeks or even months. She’s afraid of losing him, especially because their marriage is strong in every way except for sexual intimacy – which is ironic, since that’s the most important thing to him and the area where she feels most vulnerable.

Throughout the fourth season, she and Jace focused on improving their emotional connection while she also dealt with her own mental health challenges.

Earlier in the show, she admitted that Jace and she haven’t been connecting intimately. She’s very attracted to him and wants to get married, but she’s worried she isn’t fulfilling his needs and fears his patience will run out.

And being post-partum only further complicated their circumstances.

Mikayla shared that she’s now a mom and wants to be the best possible parent and partner. However, she’s feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to manage everything.

Meanwhile, Jace detailed how their lack of intimacy affected him beyond the physical.

He confessed to Connor Leavitt, Whitney Leavitt’s husband, that what he missed most wasn’t physical intimacy, but a deeper connection with his wife and feeling loved by her.

Follow Mikayla and Jace as they move forward, and stay tuned for an in-depth look at the relationships on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen began dating while appearing on the show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and had a son, Ever, together in 2024. However, their relationship ended because Dakota was unfaithful.

Taylor shared on the second episode of her Hulu series that shortly after her daughter Ever was born, she and her boyfriend Dakota were very happy and she was even thinking about getting engaged. However, she then discovered he had been dishonest with her the whole time.

Taylor learned from a woman named Jenna that she and Dakota had been sexually involved and had stayed overnight together on multiple occasions.

Taylor, who also shares children Indy and Ocean with her former husband, Tate Paul, stated that Dakota claimed Jenna started the affair.

She told the confessional, “It was him.” He’d admitted to kissing her on the couch, but then clarified they’d actually had sex there. They then continued in another room.”

Now that her relationship with the founder of Basin Tiling is over, Taylor is enjoying life and looking forward to finding love again on season 22 of The Bachelorette.

Nonetheless, she and Dakota are committed to developing a successful co-parenting relationship.

Taylor shared with TopMob News in May 2025 that she and her partner are both working on themselves to improve their individual well-being, as they realized they couldn’t achieve that together. She explained they’re currently prioritizing their child and she’s personally focusing on her own healing, with no clear plans for the future beyond that.

Whitney Leavitt married Connor Leavitt in 2016, and the two found a strong connection, both as partners and as parents to their children, Sedona, Liam, and Billy. Their life together hasn’t always been easy, especially with public attention.

For instance, the Dancing With the Stars alum had to shut down rumors about her husband’s sexuality.

Look, I get it – people are always curious about my relationship! I recently addressed the rumors on the Off the Vine podcast last October, and honestly, everything is great. We’re happy and healthy, and that’s what matters. I even joked that I didn’t need to resort to something drastic like a sex tape to prove it – we’re genuinely good!

She explained that he had battled a pornography addiction, something I wasn’t aware of personally. She mentioned a scene where a friend observed his sexual confusion, suggesting it was evident to those around him.

Despite facing challenges, the reality star shared that she and her husband, Connor, are closer than ever. They originally married when they were 23 and 22 years old, and reaffirmed their commitment by renewing their vows in February 2026, celebrating their 10th anniversary.

Conner shared with Brides that he and his partner married young. He explained that while their wedding day was special for them, it also felt like it was largely for their families. They wanted to create a celebration that truly reflected them as a couple, and they felt this was a really enjoyable way to do that.

Jen and Zac Affleck, who are married and have no relation to Ben Affleck despite what people say, have been dealing with breakup rumors ever since their first season on a show.

A major argument arose after Jen went to a Chippendales show in Las Vegas, and it was a key part of the first season of their show. Despite the fight, the couple – who are parents to Nora, Penelope, and Lucas – reconciled, and the Dancing With the Stars contestant later spoke out to support their relationship.

Jen explained to TopMob News in November 2025 that dealing with constant speculation was exhausting. She said she’s used to people talking and sharing their opinions, but it’s frustrating when others don’t recognize the hard work and effort he’s putting in privately.

She and Zac are prioritizing what’s most important and trying to ignore outside distractions, though it’s still a challenge for him.

Jessi and Jordan Ngatikaura have faced challenges in their marriage. After Jessi had an emotional affair with Marciano Brunette from Vanderpump Villa, they went through a difficult time. However, things have improved for the couple and their children, Jagger and Jovi.

Jessi shared with TopMob News in November 2025 that she and her partner are working on rebuilding their relationship. She explained that relationships aren’t easy, and after what they’ve been through, it will take time and effort to get things back on track—it won’t be a quick fix.

The reality star, who also has a daughter named Peyton from a previous relationship, shared that she and her partner are in therapy. She explained that while they experience challenges like any couple, they’re choosing to share their authentic journey with the hope that it will resonate with and help others who can relate.

Mayci never thought she’d find love again, especially not with Jacob Neeley. After her boyfriend, Arik Mack, unexpectedly passed away in 2015, she was preparing to raise their son, Hudson, alone – she was 14 weeks pregnant at the time.

But it all changed when she met Jacob in 2016 at age 21, whom she would marry two years later.

In her memoir, Told You So, Mayci explained that after difficult experiences, she was hesitant to trust people, but she and Jacob connected quickly. They stayed friends for a while, and because it wasn’t a romantic relationship, she felt comfortable with him getting to know her son.

She explained that Jacob was wonderful with her, and that made her even more drawn to him. Although she was scared of getting hurt again, she couldn’t ignore her feelings after four months. He was a kind, funny person who made her feel secure.

Mayci and Jacob went on to welcome daughters Harlow in 2021 and Charli in 2025.

Demi Engemann married Bret Engemann in 2021, following her divorce from Blake Corbin the previous year. Their relationship, documented on a reality show, gained attention when Whitney gave Demi Fruity Pebbles, which then became a central topic of discussion.

Jessi revealed the surprising reason behind the gag gift in a November 2025 Instagram post, explaining that her grandfather, Bret, drinks her urine as if it were a soft drink, and consumes it quickly like water.

Demi and Bret aren’t upset about the past—whether it involves revealed secrets or embarrassing moments. In fact, Demi told Entertainment Tonight in December that she and Bret are ready to accept everything that’s happened and just enjoy life.

Despite some public attention on their relationship, the couple is happily navigating life as a blended family. Demi has a daughter named Maude from a previous relationship, and Bret has two sons, Rome and Cole, with Angie Harrington, who is known from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

In June 2024, Demi shared on Instagram how much she admires her husband’s dedication to his children. She described him as an incredibly loving and devoted father, both to his stepdaughter, Maude, and to the children they plan to have together. She’s constantly amazed by his consistent loyalty and commitment to fatherhood, even when facing life’s challenges.

Mikayla Matthews and Jace Terry have a long history together. They first met in 2015, when Mikayla was 15, and had their son, Beckham, two years later. They married in 2018 and since then, have expanded their family to include children Haven, Tommie, and Lottie.

Mikayla and Jace are enjoying raising their four children, but Mikayla has expressed a desire to have even more kids in the future.

In a February 2025 interview with People magazine, she said she’s always pictured having three or four children, though she wouldn’t rule out having six. She’s also looking forward to moving to a new house with plenty of land for her future family.

In the ninth episode of the show’s fourth season, Mikayla revealed that she and Jace were separated and working through difficulties with their physical relationship.

Mikayla’s marriage suffered as she started to deal with the emotional pain from past sexual abuse and the challenges of her chronic illness, which worsened during times of stress.

She told Jace that talking about sex or intimacy was difficult for her. She explained that she’s already feeling overwhelmed and on edge, like she’s reached her limit and can’t handle more stress.

Layla Taylor and Clayton Wessel, parents of Oliver and Maxwell, got divorced in 2023. Later, in July 2025, Layla hinted at a new relationship with Mason McWhorter.

Despite a slightly tricky situation – Mason is connected to Layla’s coworker Miranda McWhorter through her ex, Chase McWhorter – they were both ready to see if their relationship could work.

In November 2025, Layla told Us Weekly that while she’s currently hesitant about marriage, she’s focused on building a deep connection with someone first. She expressed contentment with her relationship with Mason, adding that they would address the possibility of marriage if it ever arose.

Unfortunately, the mom of two confirmed that she and Mason had split in February 2026.

Layla explained that she and her partner were simply heading in different directions, and he needed space to grow as an individual. She said she understands and respects his choice, and wishes him all the best.

Miranda joined the show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in its second season and quickly became central to the widely discussed “soft swinging scandal” involving MomTok personalities. However, despite the controversy with Taylor, Miranda has stated that this situation wasn’t the cause of her 2024 divorce from Chase.

She explained on the Weekly Trash podcast in August 2024 that the reasons for their breakup had been brewing for a long time. While recent events may not have helped, she emphasized they weren’t a factor in the decision to split.

Nonetheless, she and Chase have been committed to parenting their kids Brooks and Cohen.

She noted that coparenting requires ongoing effort. She added that if their relationship had been flawless, they likely wouldn’t have divorced.

We’ve always been good friends, even before we became a couple,” she explained. “I think that strong friendship is a big reason we’re able to co-parent so well.”
