The games Publisher Super Rare Originals and Developer Pixel Reign have announced a shift in the release date of their upcoming science-fiction roguelite first-person shooter, Moros Protocol. Instead of its initial September 4 launch, it will now be available starting September 18. They’ve hinted that the reason for this delay might be due to the September 4 release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, which could have impacted their scheduled timeline. The game is set to be released on PC via Steam and GOG.
The initial release date was set for September 4th, but it’s been decided to change it in order to guarantee that the game launches under optimal circumstances for a successful debut.
The delay is linked to several other games that were postponed because of Hollow Knight: Silksong, such as CloverPit, Aeterna Lucis, Demonschool, Baby Steps, and Little Witch in the Woods.
Here is an overview of the game, via Super Rare Originals:
About
The Moros Protocol is a sci-fi first-person shooter game that immerses you in a challenging experience, where you must endure not only survival but also navigate through a world shrouded in darkness and filled with monstrous creatures.
Enjoy the game as a solo player or team up with a companion for a two-player cooperative experience. This game, beautifully designed with a pixel art style, is a nostalgic tribute to the iconic shooter games from the past.
Imagine yourself as Alex, suddenly roused aboard a colossal Warship en route to conflict – except, most of the crew lies lifeless, and the vessel teems with monstrous creatures. Accompanied by an artificially intelligent partner and an unintelligent robot aid named Ody-6, Alex embarks on a perilous voyage where each skirmish is a life-or-death struggle against the unfamiliar – and the ominous specter of doom itself. The warship has morphed into a chaotic battlefield. Despite being outmanned, you are never outclassed.
The Moros Protocol represents an intense, swift-moving shooter game. In this game, endurance relies heavily on the ability to adapt – failure to do so could lead to being overwhelmed. To triumph over the terrifying mobs, players must continually adjust their weapons and tactics during each playthrough.
If you’re seeking an aggressive, fast-paced strategy against your opponents, consider stocking your arsenal with submachine guns or pistols, enhanced for speed and heightened damage during movement – ideal for firing off rapid bullets on the move. Alternatively, if you prefer a more measured, strategic style, try constructing a sniper setup emphasizing potent, accurate shots capable of instantaneously eliminating enemies.
No matter what option you select, you’ll see a progression of your abilities with each playthrough, all thanks to the Moros Protocol’s dynamic combat system. As you advance through your game, you’ll discover enhancements customized to sharpen your skills in a particular style of play. If you unearth an augment that amplifies your run-and-gun performance, feel free to switch up your gear and unleash the shotgun!
As you embark on each adventure, you have the freedom to chart your own course, with various paths presenting distinct levels of risk. Do you prefer a more secure journey, or are you ready to take on higher perils for potentially greater prizes? Are you after a guaranteed new tool, or a dealer who can enhance your abilities? Make thoughtful decisions as you progress towards your objective.
In Moros Protocol, be mindful that death lurks at every turn, but remember it’s not a permanent setback! After each demise, enhance your skills and return to the fray as an improved, even more formidable force to be reckoned with.
