Move-to-earn protocol STEPN announces $30M airdrop for users

STEpn, a move-to-earn lifestyle app established on the Solana blockchain, is distributing 100 million FSL points, equivalent to around $30 million, among its users as an airdrop.

Based on the announcement made on April 10, FSL points can be exchanged for STEPN’s GMT token at a rate of one-to-one. Additionally, these points will be usable during upcoming NFT minting processes, and users will also receive special rewards. “In appreciation of our devoted community members,” remarked Shiti Manghani, CEO of STEPN, “we are initiating this large-scale airdrop promotion.”

“This week’s first airdrop was specifically designed for our Badge Holders as a token of appreciation to our dedicated core players. The rewards were distributed according to the intricacy of their in-app accomplishments, making it an extra challenging and rewarding experience for them.”

Users need to register for an FSL ID to earn points within the FSL and STEPN developer’s system. This ID allows users to spend their FSL points in the NFT marketplace MOOAR and strategy game Gas Hero. The $30 million airdrop continues until the end of April.

In 2021, STEPN was introduced by FSL with the feature that users can earn incentives by simply walking, jogging, or running. These rewards become accessible once users buy a virtual Sneaker NFT and connect their smartphones. The rewards come in the form of GMT tokens, which boast an inflationary model, a capped supply of 6 billion, and a current market capitalization of approximately $1.57 billion when diluted.

Players can accumulate GMT tokens within the app by participating in activities. These tokens can be utilized to create new NFT sneakers or advance in the game. In the internal marketplace, users have the option to rent out or sell their NFT shoes. The earnings from these transactions are safely stored in the integrated wallet, which includes a conversion tool for swapping between different cryptocurrencies. This popular lifestyle application currently boasts over 5 million registered users.
