Mrs. Maisel’s Wenne Alton Davis Dead at 60 After Being Hit by Car

Hollywood is mourning a sudden loss.

Wenne Alton Davis, an actress known for her roles in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Girls5eva, and New Amsterdam, died in New York City on December 8th after being struck by a vehicle. She was 60 years old, according to police and her representative who confirmed the news to The New York Times.

According to police reports, Davis was struck by an SUV while walking in Midtown Manhattan. The SUV was turning left from West 53rd Street onto Broadway when the collision occurred. Davis was taken to the hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead.

TopMob News has reached out to authorities and a rep for Davis but hasn’t heard back.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always been fascinated by interesting backstories, and Wendy Davis’ is a great example! Many of you might know her as Wendy Davis, but she was actually born Wendy Davis in North Carolina back in 1956. When she started acting, she decided to go by Wenne Alton Davis – a fun stage name! Before hitting it big in acting, she was a real go-getter, trying her hand at stand-up comedy in New York City in her late twenties. And get this – she even worked security at JFK airport! It just goes to show you never know what path someone will take to find their passion.

According to Harris, she deeply loved New York City, acting, and the people she worked with at J.F.K. But above all, she cherished her large family and her many friends.

I’ll never forget how kind she was to everyone. One of her closest friends, Edward Reynoso, who lived next door, shared a really touching story with me. He said that shortly before she passed away, she told him she loved him and appreciated everything he did. It just shows the kind of person she was – always thinking of others, even when she was going through so much.

Looking back, it felt like she was saying goodbye,” the 61-year-old told the New York Daily News in a December 10th interview. “Everything seems strange now that this has happened.”

Reynoso said Davis always texted him to let him know when she was leaving or returning home, so he became worried when he didn’t hear from her on the evening of December 8th.

He admitted he was really disturbed and concerned. He’d been trying to reach her by text, but she wasn’t responding, and he felt completely shocked and emotionally shut down. He just couldn’t process what had happened.

Besides acting—including her role as a police officer on Maisel in 2023—Davis frequently shared her passion for boxing and her enjoyment of time with her cat, Roxie, on Instagram.
