When mom is sick, it’s Ms. Rachel to the rescue … even if you are Ms. Rachel.
In a video shared on Instagram on June 26th, Rachel Accurso (also known as Ms. Rachel) expressed that she’s been hesitant to speak due to her current condition: she has severe laryngitis and a persistent cough. Consequently, whenever she tries to talk, the coughing only worsens.
Subsequently, she presented her tiny infant daughter, Susannah, to a screening of one of her “Songs for Tots” YouTube videos, designed to assist small children in their speech and language growth.
Susannah smiled as her mom, on the screen, asked, “Hello! Can you say, Mama? Ma-ma. Ma-ma.”
When you’re unwell, both of your children are also under the weather, with pink eye and a cough respectively, and as a mother, there are times when one must take care of what needs to be done! #MsRachel #Mama
In the comments section, she added, “Ok now I’m turning her away from it and lip synching it.”
Fans of the popular kids’ show presenter voiced their opinions after she made a choice regarding her unwell day.

In April, Miss Rachel made an announcement that she and her spouse, Aron Accurso, had brought home Susannah, their second child, through the process of surrogacy. They are also proud parents to a 7-year-old son named Thomas.
At times, things don’t go as planned and the journey can be rockier than anticipated, but when you cradle your little ones, you realize… I was destined to be their mother,” she posted on Instagram. “Due to medical complications, I couldn’t carry this pregnancy myself, and we were fortunate enough to have a surrogate who bestowed upon us the greatest gift imaginable. Now, we are one family for life. We feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and a profound connection. It has been a truly wonderful journey. I am in awe of her.
Ms. Rachel, previously a school teacher, transitioned into a popular children’s YouTube personality. Her mission was to develop a program fostering language growth in infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, following her son Thomas’s speech delay. Running the channel with Broadway music director Aron, she has amassed 15.3 million subscribers and over 11 billion views. Recently, she secured a Netflix deal featuring four episodes of interactive lessons teaching letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and more.
Ms. Rachel shared with NBC News that her son said his first word, “mama,” at 2 years and 8 months. She had been eagerly waiting for this moment for quite some time. As a parent, she yearns to help her child in any way possible, and it’s not their fault if their child experiences a speech delay. Many of the lessons she teaches are things she wished she had known earlier for her son’s benefit.
She developed her show as there was nothing similar when she faced the same struggle, which was during Thomas’s difficult times.
She mentioned that she had been trying to locate the show for him, but couldn’t find it. In frustration, she suggested, ‘Perhaps we could attempt to make something similar instead. Maybe it could benefit even more children,'” she expressed.
Ms. Rachel now has millions of fans, a toy line and can be seen on Stonyfield yogurt boxes.
