After a decade-long run in manga form, My Hero Academia’s anime is nearing its end. The anime will conclude the story in just three episodes, following the manga’s finale last year. The final season, which began airing in October, has captivated fans with its stunning animation as the climactic battle reaches its peak. The series is wrapping up with a poignant epilogue following the end of the devastating war against the villains. Throughout the series, Tomura Shigaraki has been a central antagonist, even appearing before the introduction of All For One.
Tomura has steadily grown into a truly formidable villain, even surpassing All For One, the mastermind behind all the trouble in the hero world. In a stunningly animated episode, the story says goodbye to Tomura, as the heroes begin the difficult process of rebuilding society and inspiring hope for a brighter future.
My Hero Academia Gives Tomura a Heartwrenching Conclusion Before Commencing the Epilogue

Tomura experienced a terrible childhood, losing his family and control of his Quirk, leaving him with nothing. All For One then took him in and raised him as his successor, intending to eventually steal his body. Although Tomura committed many villainous acts, he was ultimately a victim of All For One’s manipulation. All For One enacted his final plan during the war, but the combined bravery and sacrifices of the heroes ultimately defeated him.
Throughout his life, Tomura was manipulated and used by others. He ultimately died because All For One pushed his already fragile body too far. Despite this, Deku’s attempts to reach him weren’t wasted. Deku was able to help Tomura find peace and understand he was a victim of circumstance. Tomura embraced this realization and, with Deku’s help, played a crucial role in defeating All For One, achieving a heroic end.
He freed himself from his oppressor and joined Deku in defeating the last trace of the ultimate evil. With Tomura’s heartbreaking end, the devastating war that shattered the world of heroes and villains is finally over. The upcoming Episode 9 hints that the rest of the season will focus on what happens after the war, showing the aftermath and how everyone rebuilds.
