The final season of My Hero Academia is currently showing the climactic battle between Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki. To celebrate the debut of Deku’s new form in the latest episode, the series creator has shared special artwork with fans. Since its premiere earlier this fall, My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON has been packed with intense action, and Deku has been relentlessly fighting against Shigaraki. With the other battles of the war now concluded, the focus has returned to this ultimate showdown.
Now that All For One has been defeated, Deku’s sole focus is on stopping Shigaraki to save Japan and the world. However, this is proving incredibly difficult, as Shigaraki has absorbed All For One’s immense power, while Deku is exhausted from constant battle. Despite this, Deku is making one final, desperate push, fully relying on his Blackwhip quirk to support his body. The creator of the series, Kohei Horikoshi, recently shared new artwork on social media showcasing this powerful new form.

In the latest episode of My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, Deku is having a tough time battling Shigaraki. Things are made even worse because Shigaraki has taken Deku’s Danger Sense, a power within One For All. Shigaraki is growing stronger and seems to be able to slowly strip away Deku’s One For All. Meanwhile, Deku is physically exhausted from repeatedly using his Gearshift ability and can barely stay on his feet.
With a final strategy taking shape to stop the battle, Deku understands he must send all the remaining One For All users’ powers into Shigaraki. He plans to overwhelm Shigaraki with these abilities and then merge with the villain’s consciousness, hoping to save him from within. Despite the immense difficulty, Deku remains determined to redeem Shigaraki instead of destroying him. To achieve this, he’s pushing his body to its absolute limit, using Blackwhip to reinforce every muscle.
What Is Deku’s New Form?
In the final moments of the episode, Deku prepares to enact a risky new strategy against Shigaraki, using Blackwhip to essentially take control of his own body and keep fighting. His plan is to gradually transfer One For All into Shigaraki, but doing so will ultimately cause Deku to lose his own powers the longer the battle lasts. He’s willing to sacrifice everything for a chance to truly reach Shigaraki.
It’s now clear that My Hero Academia is reaching its conclusion. As Deku and Shigaraki are the last heroes and villain standing, Deku will need to give it his all to win this final battle. With only a few episodes of the last season remaining, you can watch everything on Crunchyroll or Hulu.
