My Hero Academia Creator Hypes the Anime’s 10th Anniversary With Special Art

In April 2026, the anime My Hero Academia will celebrate its 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, creator Kohei Horikoshi released a special illustration, and the series was a major focus at Jump Festa 2026, a large anime and manga event hosted by Shueisha. Fans eager for updates after the recent finale received exciting news: My Hero Academia will return for one last season to celebrate the anniversary.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of My Hero Academia, a new animated short, titled “More,” is coming! It will adapt chapter 431 of the manga, also called “More,” which was originally released with the final manga volume. The anime had previously only covered up to chapter 430, so this is exciting news for fans who wanted to see this story animated. The chapter focuses on a time skip, showing the characters as adults, and is particularly meaningful to fans. Plus, a new illustration from the creator, Kohei Horikoshi, thanks fans and gives another look at what the characters will look like after the time skip, as seen at Jump Festa.

Shortly after the My Hero Academia anime’s event at Jump Festa 2026, creator Kohei Horikoshi shared a new illustration on the official anime account. The artwork, accompanied by a thank-you message to fans, features key characters like Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, All Might, Ochako Uraraka, and Shoto Todoroki in heroic poses. A handwritten note within the illustration adds a humorous touch, suggesting the characters unexpectedly found themselves at Jump Festa and were a little confused about how they got there.

I was really struck by the new character designs revealed in the illustration – it gave a sneak peek at how they’ll look in the upcoming OVA next year. From what I understand, the OVA will really focus on what life looks like for the original Class 1-A students as adults, and how they’ve been shaped by the world they helped improve. The Jump Festa event was a huge hit, especially with the announcement of one last anime project, the creator’s enthusiasm, and the fact that it’s the 10th anniversary of the My Hero Academia anime. It felt like a great way for fans to come together and celebrate everything the series has accomplished.
