My Hero Academia Creator Shares New Take on Mei Hatsume

As a die-hard fanboy, I’ve got to say, it’s been quite the quiet spell since last year when Kohei Horikoshi wrapped up “My Hero Academia” manga. But fear not, fellow enthusiasts! This mastermind hasn’t been idle by any means. He’s dived headfirst into helping out with the eighth and final season of the anime series, which drops this autumn.

And while he might be taking a brief break from penning new manga adventures, Kohei hasn’t abandoned us completely. No siree! He’s still gracing us with stunning new artwork featuring some of our beloved characters. His latest creation is a captivating reimagining of Mei Hatsume, the brilliant inventor responsible for crafting UA Academy’s top-notch weaponry. So there you have it, my friends – Kohei’s still got the artistic chops to keep us on our toes!

Horikoshi expressed the latest artwork as a token of gratitude to fans who attended the previous My Hero Academia art show in Japan. His message reads, “A big thank you to those who visited the initial exhibition and to those intending to visit! The upcoming anime trailer is impressive! Keep an eye out for the return of My Hero Academia starting in October! I’m off for a bath now.” You can find the revised version of Mei Hatsume below, as she continues to be instrumental in the battle against All For One and Shigaraki this October.

My Hero Academia’s Anime Return

Fans of anime who enjoy superhero shonen series will see its continuation on October 4th, offering viewers the climactic battle determining Hero Society’s future. Previously, our Class 1-A heroes found themselves in a tough spot: Deku was battling Shigaraki, while All Might prepared to confront All For One, armor-clad. Despite lacking superpowers apart from his suit, Toshinori Yagi possesses a secret advantage thanks to All For One’s regenerative abilities. The more damage inflicted upon the “demon lord,” the quicker he ages in reverse, meaning each strike reduces his lifespan by years. However, it is important to note that neither outcome appears certain at this point.

In the climactic conflict, Mei Hatsume played a crucial role, significantly upgrading UA Academy with advanced technology to counter Shigaraki’s powers. Even without most of his abilities, All For One’s apprentice proved formidable for our heroes, undergoing physical transformations and coming dangerously close to eliminating several crime fighters. As the battle intensifies, Mei will need to use her intellect to ensure that our heroes not only emerge victorious but also survive the ordeal.

Currently, an installment following “My Hero Academia” as a sequel hasn’t been announced yet, but additional television seasons are being developed within the shonen universe. Concurrently with the eighth season of the primary series, “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes” has received renewal for its second season, aiming to continue chronicling characters such as Crawler, Pop Step, and Knuckleduster.
