My Hero Academia Drops New Look at Timeskip Deku Ahead of Anime’s Return

The anime series My Hero Academia concluded its ten-year run last year, but fans will soon see more of the story. Ahead of the planned continuation later this year, a new preview has been released showing Izuku Midoriya as an adult. The original anime series finished after eight seasons with a time jump, moving the story ten years forward after the big battle against the villains. This gave viewers a quick look at what happened to Deku and his classmates from Class 1-A in the future.

Although the My Hero Academia manga finished its run last year, fans have something to look forward to! A new anime episode is coming, continuing the story after the time skip in the original finale. The franchise is starting the year with a special look at what life is like for an adult Deku and his mom as they celebrate the new year 2026. You can watch it now!

What’s Next for My Hero Academia in 2026?

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, My Hero Academia is planning a global concert tour showcasing the anime’s music from the past decade, along with a brand-new anime episode. This episode, titled “More,” is adapted from an extra chapter written by the series creator, Kohei Horikoshi, which was originally included with the final volume of the manga released in Japan. This chapter came out several months after the manga finished its run in Shonen Jump.

I’m so excited! The extra episode of My Hero Academia, episode 170+1, is finally coming out in Japan on May 2nd! And the best part? Crunchyroll will be streaming it for those of us outside of Japan! From what I’ve heard, this episode really dives into what life is like for Deku and everyone else years after the main story ends. It’s like a proper send-off, tying up all those loose ends from the original finale. Honestly, it feels like the perfect way to conclude this incredible series, and I can’t wait to see it!
