After eight seasons of exciting action and compelling stories, the popular anime My Hero Academia has finished its run, leaving fans eager for more. Luckily, a new episode is planned for release next year to celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary. The anime first aired on April 3, 2016, following the manga’s debut in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump back in July 2014.
My Hero Academia to release an extra episode after Season 8 finale
After the finale of My Hero Academia Season 8, a special extra episode titled “More” will be released on May 2, 2026. Fans worldwide can watch it on Crunchyroll, except in Asia. The episode is based on a bonus chapter from the final volume of the My Hero Academia manga (chapter 431) and takes place eight years after Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and his friends graduate from U.A. High.
I just got a sneak peek at a special episode, and it’s part of a fantastic celebration for My Hero Academia‘s 10th anniversary! They’re kicking things off on April 3rd, 2026 – exactly a decade after the anime first hit the airwaves. It’s a really cool way to mark such a milestone for the series.
I was so excited to see Toho unveil the official logo for the 10th anniversary at Jump Festa! They also shared a beautiful teaser visual and a brand new website that will keep us updated with everything happening throughout 2026. The visual itself, created by Bones Films and featuring art by Yoshihiko Umakoshi, is amazing – it shows Deku growing as a hero over all ten years of the anime and manga, which is a really cool way to celebrate!
Along with a new episode, Toho announced a world tour featuring music from the popular anime My Hero Academia. The concert will showcase the work of composer Yuki Hayashi, pairing his iconic scores with memorable scenes from the show. The tour kicks off on May 30, 2026, at Pacifico Yokohama, shortly after the start of the show’s anniversary events, and is planned to include performances in cities around the world.
