As My Hero Academia nears its conclusion, the anime included a notable reference to the spin-off series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. The current season, titled My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, has been packed with intense battles between Izuku Midoriya and the heroes against Tomura Shigaraki and All For One. Now that the main conflict has seemingly ended, the remaining episodes will focus on the consequences of the war.
The latest episode of My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON shows heroes from around the world joining the recovery efforts in Japan, introducing some new and interesting characters. Notably, the episode features a cameo from Koichi Haimawari, the main character from My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, as The Crawler. However, this appearance reveals a key plot point from the end of Vigilantes, so viewers who haven’t seen it should be careful!
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes’ Main Hero Comes to the Main Series

Episode 9 of My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON shows heroes from around the world, including the United States, assisting in Japan’s recovery. A quick shot of one hero initially seemed like background scenery, but it was actually the first animated appearance of Koichi in his hero form. Since My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is set years before the main story, this marks the first time viewers have seen what Koichi becomes in the future.
The first season of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes follows Koichi, a college student who had abandoned his dream of becoming a hero like All Might. However, when trouble arises in his city, he finds himself acting as an unlicensed hero and doing far more than he expected. As he fights crime, his powers grow stronger, hinting at a larger role to play – a role that ultimately connects to the events of the main My Hero Academia series.
The Story Continues in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

The final season of My Hero Academia will wrap up in just two episodes. However, the story isn’t over! A new season of the spinoff series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, will continue the narrative next year. This series focuses on a new group of characters and takes place years before the events with Deku and his classmates at U.A. Academy. It will also reveal important details about Aizawa’s past, filling in some gaps from the current final season.
Season 2 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 as part of a busy winter anime season. While an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, Crunchyroll will be the exclusive streaming home for the new episodes when they debut in Japan. You can also watch the first season of Vigilantes and the original My Hero Academia series on Crunchyroll now.
