The latest episode of My Hero Academia finished the main story arc, wrapping up the final battle. The next episode will begin an epilogue, showing what happens after the conflict. With just three episodes left, the series will focus on the aftermath of the war, and several previews have been released to preview this new direction. Episode 168, titled “Epilogue, The Hellish Todoroki Family: Final,” will start by looking at the immediate consequences of the war, particularly how it affected the Todoroki family.
The recent preview showed what happens in the new episode, but new images give us a closer look at the consequences of the final battle, especially for Deku. Being right in the middle of the fight with the villain left him injured. He hurt his face and needed treatment, which meant getting a temporary, punk-rock style haircut. While this change won’t last, it shows how much Deku has grown. He’s now without his quirk again, but he’s established himself as the world’s greatest hero.
The Previews Hint That the Aftermath of the Final Battle in My Hero Academia Brings Major Societal Changes

Recent preview images show that Todoroki is the only one of the top three students in Class 1-A who doesn’t seem seriously injured. Bakugo, on the other hand, appears to be hurt the worst, which isn’t surprising considering how badly he was injured in the final battle and how hard he fought even after recovering. While the episode will mainly focus on the Todoroki family – even showing Endeavor in a wheelchair – it looks like they’re all traveling to a place that’s important to them. This episode seems to be the last time we’ll see the family together, and it might offer a powerful and emotional resolution.
The latest preview shows Deku with a new hairstyle and a scar, still wearing his U.A. uniform, which means he’ll finish school there even after losing his quirk. Although it’s unclear what he’ll do next, his last conversation with Shigaraki hints he might contact Spinner, a close friend of Shigaraki’s, to deliver a final message. These previews also confirm that the world of My Hero Academia will undergo major changes after the final battle, focusing on slow recovery, rebuilding, and emotional healing.
