Studio BONES has had a busy year, filled with numerous anime projects. Just this past summer, fans bid farewell to the first season of “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes,” with a second season on its way after the finale. As the release of new anime “Gachiakuta” draws near, Studio BONES has been concentrating on the story of Deku and his fellow UA Academy heroes at this year’s Anime Expo. With the voice actors for Deku in both English and Japanese set to appear, as well as the editor from Shonen Jump for the manga, fans of “My Hero Academia” are gearing up to bid adieu to Class 1-A.
At this year’s Anime Expo, voice actors Justin Briner and Daiki Yamashita appeared on stage, reenacting significant lines from the series. During their discussion about the upcoming final season, Yamashita mentioned that recording has started in Japan, but not yet in North America. Briner is taking a break to strengthen his voice before the recording sessions begin, expressing his eagerness to match Daiki’s portrayal of the anime protagonist. The panel also hinted at something special for fans on July 15th, Deku’s birthday, without revealing details. As the premiere date of the final season gets closer, a new trailer seems likely.
In addition to these recent announcements, Horikoshi himself penned a heartfelt message for fans: “Hello everyone, I’m Horikoshi, the creator of ‘My Hero Academia.’ Unfortunately, my schedule didn’t allow me to attend in person. The anime has reached its final season at last. While working on the final chapters of the manga, I grappled with my own inner pressure – would this be a cherished memory or would fans feel they had wasted ten years? I wanted ‘My Hero Academia’ to be more than just a manga; I wanted it to be an enjoyable journey for everyone involved. Fortunately, it appears that the anime team shares the same sentiment and are more motivated than ever for the final season. Now that the manga has concluded, I’ve been immersing myself in the scripts and storyboards more than usual, eager to see how it all unfolds. With everyone pouring their heart and soul into this project, the final season will premiere in October. Let’s give it our all together!
Where Does My Hero Academia’s Final Season Start?
As we approach the final episodes this fall, “My Hero Academia” left its leading crime fighters in a tight spot at the end of season seven. More precisely, Deku found himself locked in combat with Shigaraki, as the decaying antagonist now wields the full power of All For One. Intriguingly, the original villain who started it all is running out of time, as his rapid healing not only restores his health but also subtracts years from his life. Meanwhile, an armored All Might, devoid of his powers, is struggling against All For One in a desperate attempt to prevent him from reuniting with Shigaraki and fulfilling his dream of becoming the demon lord of Hero Society.
Currently, we don’t know exactly how many episodes the final season will have, but fans who read the manga are aware that significant battles from the original source material will feature in Season Eight. Once the TV series of My Hero Academia concludes, fans may ponder if there will be more tales about Deku and his classmates. It seems likely that future stories could take the form of films, as the previous movie, My Hero Academia: You’re Next, was not confirmed to be the last one. Without delving into spoilers, manga readers are aware that there’s plenty of material for potential movies in the future.
