My Hero Academia Teases Deku Overlay in Season 8

After giving it everything he had in the initial half of their encounter, which was shown towards the end of season seven, Deku is on the brink of exhaustion. However, true to character, Deku is determined to keep fighting no matter the cost to his own body. This determination has led him to develop a new form. As fans have come to expect, Deku is ready to sacrifice his own physical well-being for the sake of victory.

In this new transformation, called the Deku Overlay, Deku’s body takes on a different form when it reaches its limit. He envelopes himself with his Blackwhip quirk, making his movements resemble a spider or even reminiscent of Marvel characters like Carnage and Venom symbiote. This transformation was given the nickname “Carnage Deku” by manga fans before the official name was revealed by Kohei Horikoshi from “My Hero Academia”, who also acknowledged the inspiration behind its appearance drawn from Marvel comics.

When Does My Hero Academia Season 8 Come Out?

We’re not far from witnessing the new Deku form in action, as “My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON” is set to premiere in Japan on October 4th, as part of the Fall 2025 anime lineup.
