This year, prepare for the return of “My Hero Academia” on our screens with its eighth and concluding season of the TV show! The crew responsible for it all has hinted at something significant to commemorate Izuku Midoriya’s birthday. As they work on the anime’s grand conclusion, they have provided glimpses into the final episodes during production. Although there have been hints, viewers are still awaiting a comprehensive reveal of what lies ahead in the series finale, as we inch closer to the fall 2025 release window for the final season.
At Anime Expo 2025 earlier this month, where ComicBook was present, My Hero Academia, one of the major anime franchises, had an interesting panel session. Although they didn’t release a full trailer for Season 8, they hinted at something special that will be unveiled on Deku’s birthday, July 15th. Whether this is a new trailer or some other revelation, it promises to be exciting, as we can expect a new unveiling soon.
When Does My Hero Academia Season 8 Come Out?
As of now, the specific release date for Season Five of My Hero Academia remains undecided; however, it is slated to debut this coming October within the Fall 2025 anime lineup. Naomi Nakayama will direct once more, with Yosuke Kuroda returning as scriptwriter. Kenji Nagasaki assumes the role of chief director, while Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima contribute character designs, and Yuki Hayashi composes the music. The original voice cast is set to reprise their roles for this new season.
Additionally, this implies that the optimal moment to get updated on the series up until now is present, as all seven seasons are now accessible on Crunchyroll, offering both Japanese and English audio versions. Furthermore, Crunchyroll has announced they’ll be simulcasting the anime’s concluding episodes simultaneously with their Japanese premieres this Fall. For now, we simply await news regarding the specific release dates.
What’s New for My Hero Academia Season 8?
In the concluding season of “My Hero Academia,” our characters will engage in the ultimate battles against All For One and Tomura Shigaraki, as depicted in the manga’s finale. However, during Anime Expo 2025, series creator Kohei Horikoshi hinted at additional content. Since he has now completed the manga, he can collaborate with the anime team to incorporate fresh scenes that will further develop this final season, potentially offering more depth than the manga’s final arc did.
Since the manga of “My Hero Academia” has concluded, Horikoshi shared that he’s been able to collaborate more intimately with the animation studio regarding the anime and its production. This collaboration has allowed him to propose additional scenes and increased emotional depth in the performances. Although we don’t know exactly what these new scenes might entail, it adds to the anticipation for the upcoming final episodes of the anime airing this Fall.
