Mya Addresses Longstanding “Lady Marmalade” Feud Rumors

Mya doesn’t remember anyone being out of tune in the Moulin Rouge. 

While remembering performing “Lady Marmalade” with Lil’ Kim, Pink, and Christina Aguilera for the 2001 film *Moulin Rouge!*, the singer of “Case of the Ex” talked about the rumors of tension between the artists.

The 46-year-old told *People* magazine that they never saw any conflicts between the women. “I wasn’t aware of anything that was supposedly happening,” they said in an interview published October 8th. “I didn’t hear anything, and honestly, I’m not even sure if any of it was true.”

For more than twenty years, people have been talking about a feud between Christina Aguilera and Pink. Pink has even said that she didn’t enjoy working with Christina on their music video together.

She told Buzzfeed UK in February 2023 that making the video wasn’t enjoyable, and she actually ranked it as her least favorite. She explained she prioritizes having fun, but this project involved a lot of unnecessary drama, although she did appreciate that Kim and Mya were kind.

Even though Pink didn’t mention Christina Aguilera, which many thought meant they were feuding, Pink later told fans she wasn’t trying to offend her.

In a February 2023 post on X, Pink clarified that she doesn’t engage in subtle digs or gossip. She explained that when she talks about something, she’s simply stating the facts, and she has no interest in other people’s conflicts. She’s currently focused on her work – selling tickets, albums, and even participating in events like bake sales – and doesn’t have time for drama.

She added, “Also- I kissed xtinas mouth. I don’t need to kiss her ass.”

Christina and Pink worked together again on *The Voice* in 2016, but they first shared stories about their time filming the “Lady Marmalade” music video.

Okay, so I was listening to Christina talk about filming the ‘Lady Marmalade’ video, and honestly, it was *so* interesting! Apparently, things weren’t exactly smooth sailing with Lil’ Kim. Christina said Kim was giving her some side-eye and, like, playfully heckling her from the audience while they were shooting! She even said Kim was doing it behind the director’s back, and Christina was totally thrown off, wondering what was going on. It sounds a little intimidating, honestly, and I can totally see why Christina felt that way! It’s just…Lil’ Kim being Lil’ Kim, I guess, but still! It’s fascinating to hear the behind-the-scenes drama of such an iconic video!

She’s really changed, especially now that she’s a mother,” she explained. “She’s just become very relaxed and confident.

As many of you know, I stepped away from *Queer Eye* after eight amazing seasons, and there’s been a lot of talk about what happened with Tan and me. I wanted to address those rumors directly. After years of speculation about a disagreement, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty’s former co-star on *Charmed*, revealed on her December 2023 podcast, *Let’s Be Clear*, that Alyssa Milano supposedly gave a show producer an ultimatum: choose between her and Shannen. Combs claims this led to Shannen leaving the show in 2001.

In a February 2024 Instagram post, Alyssa stated she couldn’t get anyone fired and claimed that any current accounts of the events were simply inaccurate retellings of something that happened a long time ago.

At a MegaCon Orlando panel, Shannen stated that, to her knowledge, the story as it happened hasn’t been altered or misrepresented. She emphasized that the truth remains consistent with what was originally told.

Shannen passed away in July 2024 after a yearslong battle with cancer.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter Kelly Osbourne on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she considered Danny Masterson, known from “That ’70s Show,” to be the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a very rude and unpleasant person.

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed annoyed when he was a guest on *The Talk* in 2014, after she mispronounced his name.

She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?’ She responded sharply, telling him, ‘Don’t underestimate me, because I’ll completely overwhelm you.’ She essentially warned him, ‘You have no idea what you’re up against.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed Brittany sharing a video on Instagram showing her applying makeup, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred more traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoyed being feminine.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, saying Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Soon after, Cameron Bure apologized, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and acknowledging she should have taken the picture. She expressed sincere remorse, saying, “JoJo, I’m so sorry!”

Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday films, she said it wouldn’t, explaining that the network will continue to focus on traditional marriage.

JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to the entire LGBTQ+ community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed that Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art for her band Hole in a promotional photo without giving credit. Olivia responded with a simple, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on *Watch What Happens Live*, the *Happy Days* actor explained the reason for his difficult relationship with the *Forrest Gump* star while filming the 1989 movie *Turner & Hooch*.

I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to go home, saying I had everything I needed.

Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.

He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

Anyone who watched *The Hills* probably remembers Lauren saying that famous line at the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt, and it really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and Jason Wahler making a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out after the release date for *Fast & Furious 9* was delayed to April 2020. On the same day, a spinoff movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced for 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave *Fast 9* if Dwayne Johnson was still involved.

Tyrese recently discussed the long-standing conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on *The Red Pill* podcast that he still hasn’t spoken to Johnson directly, though he hopes to. He mentioned he *did* talk to one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not Johnson himself.

Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations he heard from others connected to the film series. He explained he was the one who spoke out, which he now recognizes was unprofessional and a mistake.

No more bad blood here.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to be the inspiration behind Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, said to have begun over a disagreement about a dancer and rivalry during concert tours, ended when Perry sent Swift an olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.

Taylor shared a video on Instagram explaining she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of *Sex and the City*, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, speculation resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and publicly made some pointed remarks about her co-star.

I remember being completely stunned when Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker about Kim Cattrall’s comments on *Watch What Happens Live* back in September 2017. Kim had just told Piers Morgan they weren’t actually friends, just coworkers, and Andy immediately brought it up to SJP. It was a really awkward moment, and I, like many fans, was glued to the screen to see how she’d respond.

She was deeply upset, saying she felt heartbroken. They had talked about it all week, and she explained she was really bothered because her memory of what happened was completely different.

It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the unique experience we shared. It started as a professional collaboration, but over many years, it became deeply personal. Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award at the Q Awards, criticized Madonna’s live performances, using strong language. The actress, formerly on *Grey’s Anatomy*, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to not be considered for an Emmy Award. She explained that she didn’t think her storylines that season were strong enough to deserve a nomination.

Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine’s decision in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on *Oprah’s Next Chapter*. She admitted it was a little hurtful, but not entirely unexpected. “When someone shows you their true colors, pay attention,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s been a good lesson for me.”

The conflict truly escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had reportedly liked, and then quickly unliked, a tweet criticizing Cardi’s skills as a mother – something Nicki denies doing.

Cardi B explained that she chose to be with her daughter instead of pursuing a very profitable Bruno Mars tour, potentially earning millions. She emphasized her strong love for her daughter and pride in being a good mother. She also responded to criticism about where she encountered another artist, saying opportunities like that don’t come around often and she wouldn’t get another chance encounter in a casual setting.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” which mentioned Taylor by name.

Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for the action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview where Mariah was asked about other singers. When asked specifically about Jennifer Lopez, she famously stated, “I don’t know her.”
